Will Djoker overcome this hurdle too?
Novak Djokovic is still the player most likely to win the US Open 2025, behind the two top favorites Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, despite his advanced age and declining physical condition. However, the Serbian’s two appearances so far have given his fans cause for concern.
The 38-year-old, who was even limping in his 3-0 opening victory, certainly did not perform well, and in his most recent 3-1 win against qualifier Zachary Svajda, he only sealed the deal when his opponent was again struggling with a thigh injury. This raises the question of how unavoidable it is to bet on Djokovic’s next victory against Cameron Norrie.
Looking at the head-to-head comparison, there is little alternative, as all six previous matches between the two players have gone to Djokovic, who has already triumphed twice over the Brit in 2025. Cameron Norrie also had to work hard against Argentine Francisco Comesana (ATP 54), winning 3-1 after four hours and three minutes. Nevertheless, the Briton was impressive on his returns, winning 67 percent of points on his opponent’s second serve and breaking the Argentine eight times. This should also enable him to take a set off Djokovic.
It therefore makes sense to bet on the man who was born in South Africa to a Scottish father and Welsh mother, has traveled widely since then, and initially played under the New Zealand flag between 2010 and 2013 to win the set. Whether the 30-year-old can actually bring the unpredictable Serb to the brink of defeat remains to be seen.
Novak Djokovic – Cameron Norrie Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
Head to head: 6:0
The two athletes have faced each other six times, and in all six cases, Novak Djokovic came out on top, losing only two sets in total to Cameron Norrie in six meetings. The two players have already met twice this year. The Serbian superstar won both the semifinal of the Gonet Geneva Open in Geneva (2:1) and the round of 16 at the French Open (3:0).
Novak Djokovic – Cameron Norrie Tip
Basically, the prediction for Novak Djokovic against Cameron Norrie is that the struggling Djoker will fail in the third round at Flushing Meadows, just like a year ago, which is conceivable but not really feasible. Too often in his career, the 38-year-old has activated hidden resources and displayed superlative comeback qualities in phases when his physical condition was questioned. Nevertheless, after his rather dubious performances, it can be assumed that Nole will have a tough job ahead of him against the 30-year-old Brit if he wants to set the record alone. With his 3-1 victory over Zachary Svajda, the Serbian superstar finally clinched his 191st Grand Slam singles victory on hard court, equaling Roger Federer’s record.
We assume that the Brit will take at least one set off Djoker. However, in order not to rule out any outcome, we recommend betting that this nominally very exciting match will not be decided in three sets.
