Will Eintracht make another statement?
Basically, the experts largely agree that Eintracht Frankfurt will once again play a major role in the race for the Champions League spots in 2025/26. Some even consider SGE to be a serious title contender, although the championship odds in the Bundesliga only partially support this. The chances are much better that a bet on coach Dino Toppmöller’s team will pay off in Saturday afternoon’s local derby between Hoffenheim and Frankfurt.
Hoffenheim’s very confident opening victory against Werder Bremen last weekend certainly speaks in favor of a Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt prediction in favor of the visitors from Hesse. However, TSG has also had a perfect start to the season. Ilzer’s team won 2-1 away in Leverkusen in a sensational performance, showing a completely different side to last season. Without batting an eyelid, it therefore makes sense to predict a relatively high number of goals ahead of the clash between two confident teams, Hoffenheim and Frankfurt.
An exciting side note: Eintracht Frankfurt has only ever started a new Bundesliga season with two wins once in its club history. In 2012/13, the Eagles celebrated a 4-0 away win in Kraichgau on the second matchday of the season! Is a repeat of events looming on the second matchday of the Bundesliga, 13 years later? The Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt odds suggest so, in a sense. At Merkur Bets, among others, you can bet 2.25 on the visitors, who are participating in the Champions League, to win.
Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt prediction AI
The term “value” is easy to explain in the context of soccer betting. If the probability of victory predicted by humans or, for example, artificial intelligence exceeds the probability reflected in the best betting odds, there is “value.” This is also the case in the match between TSG and SGE. The AI believes there is a 53.8% chance of an away win for Hessen, which should actually be accompanied by odds of around 1.85. However, the top odds offered on the three-way market are 2.25, so the Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt AI prediction clearly favors Toppmöller’s team.
Hoffenheim – Statistics & current form
Due to his disappointing record in the first half of the year, Christian Ilzer was long criticized at TSG Hoffenheim. A temporary suspension was at least discussed internally. However, based on current information, it seems to have been a wise move by the club’s management to give the Austrian championship-winning coach (with Sturm Graz) more time.
TSG Hoffenheim: A flash in the pan or the start of a wonderful season?
In any case, the start of the new season has been very promising for the Kraichgauers. First, they won a difficult away game in the DFB Cup at Hansa Rostock with a confident 4-0 victory. This was followed by a surprising 2-1 triumph at Bayer Leverkusen, which also ended TSG’s winless streak in the Bundesliga that had lasted since mid-April. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the Blue and Whites under coach Ilzer have not yet managed two consecutive league wins. If the Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt odds are to be believed, this could remain the case after Saturday.
To date, the Sinsheimers have won only two of twelve home games in the German top flight with Ilzer on the sidelines. The last time they started the season with two wins on the first two matchdays was five years ago. Furthermore, it must be noted that TSG, who made several changes to their starting lineup compared to last season, were not necessarily the better team in Leverkusen, but rather impressed with their brutal efficiency. Statistically, they scored two goals from zero big chances. Perhaps the men from the Rhine-Neckar region are being hyped up too quickly, which is also reflected in my Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt prediction for the visitors.

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form
Eintracht Frankfurt impressed on almost every level on the first matchday. The 4-1 home win against Werder Bremen was more or less expected. On the one hand, because the Hessians managed to keep all their key players, with the exception of Ekitike, and also strengthened their squad cleverly. On the other hand, because Bremen are currently about as far away from their normal or even best form as the SGE fans are from dissatisfaction.
Will Frankfurt’s offense strike again multiple times?
The two match winners were undoubtedly Can Uzun and Jean-Matteo Bahoya. Uzun, who is only 19 and is now finally looking to make his breakthrough after a difficult debut season at Eintracht, was directly involved in three goals (one goal, two assists). The lightning-fast Bahoya scored twice, becoming the youngest SGE double goalscorer since Marc Stendera in 2015. In my opinion, the betting odds on another Bahoya goal should be on every betting slip ahead of the Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt match. Interwetten is offering attractive odds of 4.10 and a €11 Interwetten free bet for the Bundesliga restart.
In general, I believe that the offense, which has been bolstered by Burkardt and Doan, is the Eagles’ absolute showpiece and should therefore be able to make the difference in Sinsheim. Eintracht recently won 14 high balls against Werder and will definitely not stray from their intense style of play against the ball. After five consecutive unbeaten away games across all competitions and seasons, they are also confident of playing for victory and goals in Kraichgau.

Hoffenheim – Frankfurt Head-to-head record
The clubs have played each other 32 times in the Bundesliga so far. Frankfurt leads the head-to-head record with 13 wins. This is offset by ten defeats and nine draws. However, TSG has only won two of the last 16 encounters. In all 16 matches, the Sinsheimers conceded at least one goal. Nine times in a row, a bet on over 3.5 goals would have paid off. These teams have often provided spectacular entertainment!
Hoffenheim – Frankfurt Tip
Both TSG Hoffenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt have made a perfect start to the season. The Kraichgauers won 2-1 in Leverkusen, while Eintracht even beat Werder Bremen 4-1 at home. Both sides have strong attacking lines, so I’m definitely leaning towards an over bet. At least three goals in the game are a foregone conclusion. Looking back at previous encounters, which have usually been accompanied by plenty of offensive spectacle.
So why shouldn’t the mighty Eintracht score at least one goal in both halves? That’s exactly what my Hoffenheim vs. Frankfurt tip at high odds is aiming for. Merkur Bets is offering 2.52, which I’m betting on with three out of a possible ten fictitious units. A bet on an SGE away win and on Bahoya as the goalscorer is also interesting.
