American seeks revenge for Wimbledon!
Around two months ago, a particularly memorable women’s final took place on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Iga Swiatek swept her opponent Amanda Anisimova off the court 6-0 in both sets. Such a humiliation had only happened once before, in 1911, in a women’s final at Wimbledon. So is it worth betting on Amanda Anisimova against Iga Swiatek for another victory for the Eastern European?
Looking at the two players’ tournament performances so far, the answer is rather negative. Both the American and the Polish player have lost only one set in their four matches. However, in our opinion, Swiatek’s path has been more difficult, which is why her record is particularly impressive.
Moreover, she has performed significantly better at the US Open in the past than the local hero. She won the tournament in 2022, while Amanda Anisimova had never made it past the third round before and was even knocked out in the first round in her last two appearances.
In light of this, the prediction that the sets will once again go quite clearly in favor of the Polish player in the match between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek seems profitable. Bets that the Polish player will be at least four games ahead at the end of the match could therefore be worthwhile.
Amanda Anisimova – Iga Swiatek Head-to-head record
The memorable Wimbledon final this year, which Swiatek won without losing a single game, was also the first time these two players had faced each other. For the second meeting between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek, the odds are once again clearly pointing to another defeat for the American.
Amanda Anisimova – Iga Swiatek Tip
Amanda Anisimova will be highly motivated against the Polish player, as the sting of her recent Wimbledon defeat is sure to still be fresh. However, we do not see her being able to keep up with the world number 2 in terms of play this time around. Although she has been playing consistently at this year’s US Open, her opponents so far have not been able to match the quality of her upcoming opponent.
In addition, Swiatek has more experience at the US Open. She won the competition three years ago and has reached at least the quarterfinals twice in her last four appearances.
In contrast, the American was knocked out in the first round last year and has now reached the quarterfinals for the first time since her first appearance at the US Open in 2016. Given this situation, we are opting for betting odds in the match between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek that the Polish player will win the match by more than 3.5 games in the final score.
