Will the Royals maintain their perfect record?

Only two clubs have earned maximum points in the first three La Liga matchdays – Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid. The Royals are determined to secure another three points in Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid and possibly plunge the home side into crisis.

The hosts made a change on the bench in the summer – a new feeling for their own fans, who have been used to seeing Imanol Alguacil on the sidelines for years. La Real has disappointed offensively so far this season and is not convincing in the Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid prediction either.

However, it will likely be some time before Sergio Francisco’s chair is sawed off. The 46-year-old has worked his way up from the third team to the second team to the Basques’ first team since 2016. The Txuri-Urdinak officials are likely to have factored in a defeat in their Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid betting odds.

However, the home side had expected a better result on the last matchday. Before the international break, the White and Blues suffered a surprise defeat against newly promoted Oviedo (0-1).

This is better spent on “Real Madrid wins to nil.” So far, the Madrilenians have conceded only one goal and have conceded the fewest expected goals in the league (1.58 xGA). Since Xabi Alonso took over, the team’s defensive play has been improving.

However, during the international break, the league leaders only had eight first-team players available. We are therefore choosing Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid odds with caution and simultaneous value.

Real Sociedad – Real Madrid Head-to-head record / H2H record

Real Madrid has not been beaten in the six previous encounters with the Blue and Whites (5W, 1D). In four of the six cases, Los Blancos have recorded a clean sheet victory without conceding a goal themselves. Four of the five previous duels ended with “under 2.5 goals” in the game. This trend will continue this coming weekend.

Several statistics reinforce this assessment. Real Sociedad has so far lacked a clear concept for creating big scoring chances in attack. With only 0.07 expected goals per shot, they have the second-worst record in the Spanish Primera Division. On the other hand, Sergio Francisco’s team has built a strong defense and has allowed the fewest shots on goal in the league.

Real Sociedad – Real Madrid Tip

Xabi Alonso simply continues his success story. As during his time as head coach of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Spaniard has established a system at Real Madrid that allows for maximum control of the game. There have been hardly any scoring chances for opponents so far.

Real Madrid presses cleverly, allowing only 9.4 PPDA (2nd) and has already scored a goal from two high ball wins. Hardly any gaps have been exposed between the lines, meaning that no La Liga team has conceded fewer shots than the white ballet from the Spanish capital.

We don’t expect the home side to launch an offensive assault. Only four teams have had fewer shots on goal than the Txuri-Urdinak before the international break. Most of the danger has come from set pieces (35.48 percent of expected goals).

Xabi Alonso’s team could well find themselves in a game of patience, at the end of which the league leaders will secure a narrow away win and leave the pitch without conceding a goal for the third time this season.
