Will the Vikings remain hot against Atlanta?
Sunday Night Football on NFL Game Day 2 and our Vikings vs. Falcons tip is all about the two young second-year quarterbacks, McCarthy and Penix. Both made a very good impression on the first game day, which makes the duel all the more interesting.
However, while the Vikings were able to defeat the Bears with a strong comeback, the Falcons suffered a defeat against the Buccaneers. This puts them under a little more pressure if they don’t want to start the season with two losses.
Atlanta now faces a mammoth task in Minnesota, as the Vikings not only come into the game with a lot of momentum, but they have also often come out on top in this matchup in previous years. Minnesota has won six of the last seven meetings and averaged an impressive 36.5 points in the last two encounters.
Our prediction for Vikings vs. Falcons is therefore another high-scoring duel (61.7 on average over the last three games), which should ultimately go to the home team. Despite Addison’s suspension, they simply have the better receivers on the field.
Kick-off for this interesting matchup is at 2:20 a.m. on Monday morning in Minneapolis. This NFL Week 2 game will be available to watch live on the DAZN streaming service.
Vikings – Falcons Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
As already mentioned, the record clearly favors Minnesota here. They have won six of the last seven games and, historically speaking, they are clearly ahead with a 22:12 record. In their last meeting at the same venue, they even destroyed the Falcons 42:21.
In general, we are in for a high-scoring duel here. A total of 61.7 points were scored over the last three games, with the 60-point mark being broken twice. That makes the 44.5 points scheduled for Sunday night seem extremely low to us.
Therefore, the odds for over points are clearly favored in Vikings vs. Falcons. In the fourth quarter against the Bears alone, the Vikings scored 21 points, and if they get rolling, they should once again approach the 30-point mark or even exceed it at home.
Vikings – Falcons Tip
The Falcons only gained 69 rushing yards against the Bucs, despite Bijan Robinson. With the Vikings’ defense also being rock solid against the run, Atlanta is likely to struggle again. So it will probably be up to Michael Penix to save the day once more. He should definitely score a few points again, but that may not be enough against these powerful Vikings.
This makes betting on the Vikings a great option for Minnesota vs. Atlanta, although our number one bet is actually something else: betting on over points. Both teams are generous with points, and there have been plenty of them in recent head-to-head matches. The over 44.5 total points should therefore be easily achievable.
As a player bet, we have our eye on a player who already found the end zone against the Bears on Monday and did so 10 times in the preseason: Justin Jefferson. Touchdown bets on Jefferson are therefore another clear recommendation from us.
