Will the Bills remain the team to beat?
Thursday Night Football is back, and after every Thursday game so far has featured a Super Bowl co-favorite, that’s not changing with our Bills vs. Dolphins tip. And no, we’re not referring to the Dolphins, of course.
We are, of course, referring to the Buffalo Bills, who have started the season with two statement wins. First, with a shootout victory against their rivals from Baltimore, and then with a blowout win last Sunday against the Browns.
Above all, the comfortable win against the Browns should serve as a blueprint for Thursday’s game. We expect a similarly dominant performance from the Bills, who will also be playing at home. So, for Bills vs. Dolphins, our prediction is another clear win for the Bills, who will once again score a few points.
Their average so far is 35.5 – a figure that does not seem unrealistic against the Fins. The Dolphins have so far played the role of total failures rather than equal opponents. With 17.5 per game, they are not even scoring half as many points on average as the Bills this season.
Kick-off for the third Thursday Night Game of the still young NFL season is at 2:15 a.m. on Friday morning in Buffalo. The game will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming service.
Buffalo Bills – Miami Dolphins Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
If another point were needed to cement the Bills’ favorite status here, it would definitely be the head-to-head comparison. Of the last 14 matchups, the Dolphins have won only one. The last six games have all gone to Buffalo, including both matchups in the preseason.
The games in Buffalo in particular are regularly high-scoring affairs. 57, 68, 65, 61 – these were the total scores of the games, which works out to an average of 62.75 points per game. Although the Fins have not yet gotten their offense going this season, the odds for over points are an option for Bills vs. Dolphins.
We would be very surprised if the 50-point mark were not broken here. Once again, the Bills’ home strength comes into play. They scored 41 points in their first home game. In addition, they only failed to score 30 points in two games last season – one of which was in the playoffs (vs. Ravens), where fewer points are always scored anyway.
Buffalo Bills – Miami Dolphins Tip
Let’s recap: The Bills are considered the clear favorites, which is currently reflected in the line with a handicap of -12 to -13. That’s still a bet worth making, especially at their home stadium, Highmark Stadium. Nevertheless, we have picked a different number one bet.
For Bills vs. Dolphins, our recommendation is a combination bet on Buffalo + over 47 points. After all, everyone expects the Bills to win this game. And even 47 points is a very low number, at least historically speaking.
We have also picked out a player bet again. The Bills’ running game has been one of their great strengths so far. That should not change against the Fins’ vulnerable run defense. So far this season, they have allowed an average of 139.0 yards per game.
So the prospects for rushing touchdowns are good. Josh Allen and James Cook are the top options here, of course, but we like a TD tip on Cook even better. He has already found the end zone three times in the two games so far, which should make him the Bills’ number one option against Miami as well.
