How many dangerous shots will both teams create?
We still need a few more positive results before we can call Betis Sevilla vs. Real Sociedad a real top match. Both teams have had a more or less weak start to the season and are in double digits in the Spanish Primera Division table.
The Verdiblancos’ management is probably not too concerned about this. Manuel Pellegrini has been firmly in charge since 2020 and reached the Conference League final last season (1-4 vs. Chelsea). In addition, the hosts scored points on the last matchday after trailing 0:2 (2:2 vs. Levante). A defeat for the Beticos would be rather unexpected in the Betis Sevilla vs. Real Sociedad prediction.
The home team’s role as favorites is underlined by the Betis Sevilla – Real Sociedad betting odds. The best sports betting providers are offering odds of around 2.10 for a home win. In contrast, La Real travels to Andalusia as the underdog with odds of more than 3.50.
Both offensive lines have put in a lot of effort in the first weeks of the season. In a league comparison of shots taken, both the Green and Whites (72) and the Txuri-Urdinak (69) rank among the top 5 in the Spanish Primera Division.
Except for Barcelona (9), there is currently no team in the Spanish top flight that has scored more goals from open play than Betis Sevilla (5). The hosts have scored at least one goal in every La Liga game of the season so far. Defensively, however, there have been a few slip-ups, with goals scored by both sides in four of Betis’ five games.
Betis Sevilla – Real Sociedad Head-to-head record
Both meetings last season ended in a win for the home team. In addition, at least one of the two teams has scored “over 1.5 goals” in three consecutive matches. We currently attribute the better prospects for a productive game to the Verdiblancos.
Betis Sevilla has scored the third-most expected goals (6.9 xG) in the league and produced a large part of this number from open play. Real Sociedad, on the other hand, has been quite dependent on set pieces so far and has scored the second-highest percentage of expected goals (33.51 percent) from set pieces in the league (a total of 1.75 xG from set pieces – third in La Liga).

Betis Sevilla – Real Sociedad Tip
Sergio Francisco took over as coach of the visitors just before this season, succeeding long-time coach Imanol Alguacil. So far, Francisco has placed a strong focus on wing play, with Real Sociedad making the most crosses from the wings in the league (74).
This has not yet resulted in many high-percentage scoring chances (0.07 xG per shot), but the constant pressure in attack has led to at least one goal in three of four league games. Defensively, however, the Txuri-Urdinak are still searching for a healthy balance, which is obviously still lacking with 6.78 expected goals against (17th).
Both teams are looking to move forward with their style of play. Among all La Liga clubs, only three teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Athletic Bilbao) shifted more of their actions in the game to the attacking third than Real Sociedad (32 percent).
The visitors may still lack balance in their play, but our Betis Sevilla vs. Real Sociedad tip benefits from this approach. We are betting on “Both teams to score” at odds of 1.77 at Interwetten.
