Will the Gunners stumble again against West Ham?

This weekend, the London derby between Arsenal and West Ham will take place at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have won their last three games in a row in three different competitions and are in strong form. The Hammers, on the other hand, have not won in three games and most recently drew with Everton. In six of West Ham’s last seven games, at least two goals were scored in the second half – therefore, our Arsenal vs. West Ham tip is: “Over 1.5 goals in the second half.”

Arsenal are currently in impressive form. They have won six of their last eight Premier League games, with only Liverpool (0-1) and Manchester City (1-1) denying the Gunners a win. With 19 points since mid-May, Arsenal are the highest-scoring team in this phase.

Despite their strong home record (only four defeats in their last 42 games), West Ham have been a difficult opponent recently, which must be taken into account in the Arsenal vs. West Ham prediction. Two of Arsenal’s four defeats have come against the Hammers. There is hope that Bukayo Saka is set for a milestone with his possible 200th Premier League appearance, and Gabriel, the league’s most dangerous defender, regularly makes his mark on set pieces.

West Ham have recently shown stable form away from home. In their last five Premier League away games, they have suffered only one defeat, with three wins and one draw. David Moyes’ team has collected all of its last ten points away from home, which is a confidence boost ahead of the difficult trip to Arsenal.

However, their derby record is poor: no club has lost more London derbies in the Premier League (134), and they have lost eight of their last eleven encounters with their city rivals. Captain Jarrod Bowen is a particular threat, having been involved in 11 goals in the last 12 league games and having already scored five times against Arsenal – including the decisive goal in last season’s away win at the Emirates. The Arsenal vs. West Ham odds for another goal from the Englishman are good.

Arsenal – West Ham Head-to-head record / H2H record

In the overall statistics between Arsenal and West Ham United, there have been 137 competitive matches to date. Arsenal have won 69 of those games, while West Ham have recorded 32 victories. 36 encounters ended without a winner. The Gunners also have a clear advantage in terms of goal difference: with 241 goals to the Hammers’ 155, they are clearly dominant.

Arsenal – West Ham Tip

The Gunners are currently in strong form, but have had problems against West Ham in the past – most recently, they suffered two consecutive home defeats. For a third consecutive defeat, Arsenal vs. West Ham betting odds of 12.80 are available at Merkur Bets.

However, the Gunners have won six of their last eight PL games, dropping points only against City and Liverpool. West Ham, on the other hand, have lost only one of their last five PL away games – goals were guaranteed in the second half in particular, with at least two goals scored in the second half in six of the Hammers’ last seven games.

Jared Bowen in particular is always a factor, having scored in West Ham’s last away win at the Emirates. The Gunners tend to take their foot off the gas in the first half – Arsenal have failed to win in three of their last four PL first halves, and in their last ten games against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
