Will Croatia go undefeated to the 2026 World Cup?

Croatia, currently top of the table, has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA and will only need to make cosmetic changes to its results against Montenegro. The Croatians have won six of their seven qualifying games and also secured a draw – with 19 points and a goal difference of 23:2, they are six points ahead of the Czech Republic in second place. They have played five of their seven games without conceding a goal – in the Montenegro vs. Croatia match, our tip is for another win without conceding a goal.

Montenegro’s fate is also sealed: the Montenegrins will finish the qualifying phase in fourth place, having earned nine points from their seven games so far. With twelve points, the Faroe Islands are still within theoretical reach, but the Sokoli have a significantly worse goal difference of -8 than the Faroese, who have +2.

Although they won their last game against Gibraltar, Montenegro lost the previous four games without scoring a single goal. They lost all eight possible halves, which is why we are again predicting a Croatian victory in both halves in our Montenegro vs. Croatia prediction – as in the first leg, which ended 0-4 (0-1).

Croatia, on the other hand, is participating in the 2026 World Cup with a fantastic goal difference of +21 and only one draw as a blemish. The Croatians recently won 3-1 against the Faroe Islands, dashing their slim hopes of a playoff spot. This spot is now safely secured by Czechia. With 23 goals of their own, Zlatko Dalic’s team proved to be extremely accurate – in six of their seven games, they scored in the first half, five times exactly once.

The Vatreni usually turned up the heat in the second half: 16 of their 23 goals were scored after the break – in five of the seven qualifying games, they scored at least twice in the second half.

Montenegro – Croatia Head-to-head record

Croatia and Montenegro have met once before in a competitive match – it was the first leg of their World Cup qualifier. Croatia won that game comfortably, with the final score 4-0 in their favor. That leaves the record at one win for Croatia, zero for Montenegro, and no draws.

Montenegro – Croatia Tip

According to the Montenegro vs. Croatia betting odds from the best sports betting providers, the Croatians are of course the clear favorites in this match. The Kockasti have won six of their seven games, scoring 23 goals and conceding only two.

In six of their seven qualifying games, they scored in the first half, but 16 of their 23 goals came in the second half, which is the clear majority. In addition, the Croatian team did not concede a goal in five games, while Montenegro only scored in one of their last five games.

The Montenegrins have also lost four of their five games, conceding twelve goals – at least one in each of the eight halves. They already lost 4-0 to Croatia in the first leg, so we don’t expect any big surprises and are betting on the Croatians again.
