Will Rivers win his first game after his comeback?

The relegated team meets the promoted team – but in a different sense than is understood in soccer, for example. With four consecutive losses, the Colts are the big losers of recent weeks, while the 49ers, with four wins, are the big winners ahead of our Colts vs. 49ers tip.

Another loss would probably mean the end of the playoffs for Indianapolis, whereas San Francisco could even hope for the number 1 seed in the NFC with another win. The NFC standings are tighter than they have been in many years.

Will the Colts defy fate once again? Our clear answer is no. Philip Rivers may still be a very good game manager at 41, but we saw against Seattle that the Colts’ offense is limited with Rivers.

If the 49ers prepare well for this (which is a given with head coach Kyle Shanahan), it will even be a fairly easy win for San Francisco. So for Colts vs. 49ers, our prediction is an away win for the Niners, who will then take the top spot in the NFC.

Kickoff for Rivers’ second game is at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday night in Indianapolis. The game can be watched live on DAZN.

Indianapolis Colts – San Francisco 49ers Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

To give Colts fans a little hope, let’s take a look at the head-to-head comparison. Indy has won the last five games in a row (most recently in 2021). But that was without a 41-year-old quarterback, and Christian McCaffrey was not yet with the Niners.

The Niners’ running back is the outstanding player of the season and could once again gain 1,000 yards on the ground and through the air. How Indianapolis plans to stop him remains questionable – even though they don’t have a bad defense against the run, allowing only 95.1 rushing yards per game.

But since Rivers can’t generate big plays on offense (his arm no longer allows it), the Colts are very predictable and Jonathan Taylor won’t get any space either. That makes the odds on the Niners -4.5 our absolute top bet for Colts vs. 49ers.

Indianapolis Colts – San Francisco 49ers Tip

You can’t help but feel a little sorry for the Colts. They’re having an outstanding season, but then they not only lose four games in a row, but also their quarterback Daniel Jones. With Philip Rivers, we don’t see them winning another game this season. Their remaining schedule is too difficult for that.

The 49ers are a particularly tough opponent right now, having won their last four games by double digits – with an average margin of 15.25 points. That makes a bet on San Francisco -4.5 in Colts vs. 49ers a sure thing for us.

As a player bet, we have several options and decide on a TD bet on George Kittle. He has scored four touchdowns in his last five games and is currently one of Brock Purdy’s favorite targets.
