Not against misery!
The other Premier League teams are quite happy to travel to the Hammers this season: only bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton have picked up fewer points at home! Read our preview of Tuesday evening’s match to find out whether West Ham vs. Nottingham could be worth betting on an away win for Sean Dyche’s team.
One argument against this prediction is that the visitors don’t score many points away from home. After ten away games, the 1978 English champions have a similarly improvable haul of eight points, and Forest haven’t scored in their last three away games.
Furthermore, the performance levels of the two clubs can be considered very similar. It is not without reason that they are neighbors in the table, separated by only four points in 17th and 18th place. Their current form is also equally poor.
The “Tricky Trees” have not scored in four games, and the home side has only picked up one point in that time. Last weekend, the Londoners handed Wolverhampton, who were bottom of the table and without a win until then, their first three points of the season!
In that match, they also missed a direct shot on goal for the third time this season – only Burnley has the same unenviable record. For the clash between two clubs of similar strength at West Ham against Nottingham, the prediction is therefore a draw.
Furthermore, we expect a maximum of one goal from the visitors. Although the capital club, along with the Wanderers, have conceded the most goals at home in the league, Forest have the third-weakest away attack and their offense has been significantly weakened by the long-term absence of Chris Wood.
The New Zealander has scored 34 goals in the Premier League over the past two seasons and has been the club’s top scorer in each of those seasons.
West Ham – Nottingham Head-to-head record / H2H record
The last direct duel took place in Nottingham in August last year and ended in a clear 3-0 away win for the capital club against the two-time European Cup winners. Thanks to this victory, West Ham ended a previous run of three consecutive defeats in this fixture.
This time, however, Forest should focus primarily on their own defense, especially in the final stages: since the club’s return to the Premier League in 2022, nine of the eleven goals conceded against West Ham have come in the last 20 minutes, and the last five have come in the last 10 minutes!

West Ham – Nottingham Tip
For West Ham coach Nuno Espírito Santo, the upcoming duel against the “Tricky Trees” is no ordinary match. Until the third matchday of the current Premier League season, he was still under contract with the upcoming opponent before his dispute with club owner Evangelos Marinakis meant that his days at City Ground were numbered.
However, he has made little change for the better in London so far: in fact, his win rate has more than halved to a very meager 13.3 percent compared to his previous spell in Nottingham. The Portuguese has not managed more than two wins in 15 competitive games (2-5-8) since his first competitive game in September last year at Everton (1-1), and the home side have not won in the league for nine games (0-4-5).
On the other hand, his previous employer is also in poor form: the “Garibaldis” have been waiting for points for four rounds, and both clubs are neighbors at the bottom of the table.
In both cases, the only realistic goal for the season at the moment is to avoid relegation. In light of these very bleak situations, we cannot identify a clear favorite. Instead, the West Ham vs. Nottingham betting odds for a draw seem promising.
