Will Juve stumble again?

The new year is only a few days old, and already the second matchday in the Italian Serie A is upon us. After a disappointing draw at home against Lecce at the start of the year, Juventus Turin will face a strong newcomer in our Sassuolo vs. Juventus tip.

Nevertheless, the Italian record champions are considered favorites in their away game in the province of Modena.

After their weak performance at the start of the season, we would not hesitate to predict an away win for Sassuolo against Juventus. Before their relegation to Serie B, the strong newcomers won their last two home games against the Italian record champions. And Fabio Grosso’s team has also made a good impression in recent weeks.

Sassuolo – Juventus Head-to-head record / H2H balance

The two clubs have faced each other 23 times in total so far. The Old Lady has won 16 of those encounters. Sassuolo has won only 4 games in this comparison, and three times no winner could be determined between the two teams.

However, Sassuolo celebrated two of its only four victories against Juventus in the last two home games. Therefore, it is certainly worth considering betting on Sassuolo against Juventus odds for an undefeated game for the hosts next Tuesday.

Sassuolo – Juventus Tip

After just one year in Italy’s second division, Sassuolo Calcio returned to the top flight this season. Fabio Grosso’s team has had a good season so far, picking up 23 points. Will “I Neroverdi” therefore manage to upset the Italian record champions in their own stadium once again? We certainly believe Grosso’s team can do it in our Sassuolo vs. Juventus tip, and we expect the team from the Modena region to score at least one goal.

Sassuolo has frequently shared the points in Serie A recently. Three of their last five games have ended in a draw, with one win and one defeat. “I Neroverdi” remain difficult to beat, with even top teams Bologna and AC Milan struggling against the newly promoted side. We therefore believe the team from the small town near Bologna also has a chance in the upcoming match.

Although their top scorer Domenico Berardi is still missing, 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Grosso is likely to field his team in an attacking 4-3-3 formation again against the favorites from Turin. Only in their home defeat to Juve’s city rivals FC Turin did his team fail to score in their last five games. That’s why we expect the home team to score at least one goal against the Italian record champions.

The Italian record champions’ slim hopes of winning the title, which had been raised by three consecutive wins at the end of the year, have been dealt a significant blow by the embarrassing 1-1 draw at home against Lecce. Above all, however, the performance was a relapse into the scrappy football that Juve repeatedly displayed in recent seasons and at the start of the season under head coach Igor Tudor, who has since been dismissed.

Juve did show an upward trend after Luciano Spalletti took over the reins at the Italian record champions. However, the match against Lecce showed once again that the Old Lady is still not immune to slip-ups against the so-called smaller teams in the league.

The next setback could be just around the corner against Sassuolo Calcio. Not only has Juve always struggled away against this team in the recent past, but Spalletti’s side will once again be without some key players against the newly promoted side.
