Who will win this expected low-scoring game?

The Texans have two more wins than the Steelers, yet this NFL Wild Card game is now taking place in Pittsburgh. The NFL division rules make it possible and also make our Steelers vs. Texans tip a little more interesting.

In Houston, we would have had the Texans clearly in the lead. At Acrisure Stadium, however, the Steelers still have at least a glimmer of hope, even if it is relatively small in our view. The Steelers offense has been too limited lately and the Texans defense has been too good.

Houston allows the fewest yards per game, and if they hadn’t already shifted down a gear on the last matchday, they would also be number 1 in terms of points allowed. How is Aaron Rodgers supposed to score a lot of points?

He probably doesn’t need that many, as we expect a game in which the 40-point mark will not be broken. So our prediction for Steelers vs. Texans is a low-scoring game, which will ultimately be decided by the Texans’ defense.

Kick-off for the AFC Wild Card duel is at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. Like all playoff games, the game can be watched live on RTL and DAZN.

Over 40 or under 40, that is the question. We are going with the under for the total points and have a tip with enormous odds for the player bets in this game: a touchdown by Jayden Higgins, who has found the end zone in his last two games. We consider odds of up to 4.35 to be extremely good value.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Houston Texans Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

Despite being in the same conference, this matchup has only occurred once in the last five years. The 2023 encounter ended in a very clear 30-6 victory for Houston. It shouldn’t be that clear on Monday, but we are still predicting a Texans victory.

We simply don’t see any way for the Steelers to overcome this defense. Their passing game has stalled recently, and even though DK Metcalf is now returning from suspension, he wasn’t in great form before that either. So they’ll have to go on the ground – no easy feat against the fourth-best run defense in the NFL.

Our analysis already shows that this matchup clearly favors the Texans. Especially since they have now won nine games in a row and are the hottest team in the league. This means that the odds for Houston are clearly better for Steelers vs. Texans.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Houston Texans Tip

The Texans allow 5.4 fewer points per game and also score 0.4 more points. They also have a +5 better turnover ratio (+17 to +12). Houston turned the ball over only 12 times in the regular season – the second-best record in the league and an immensely important point, especially in the playoffs.

No matter how we look at it, we always come back to Houston. So for Steelers vs. Texans, the betting odds on the Texans -3 are our preferred tip option. We can also combine tips on Houston with under points, as we don’t see the 40-point total being reached here.

Another betting option we have on our to-bet list is a touchdown by Jayden Higgins. With odds of up to 4.35, this is more of a long shot, but the wide receiver did score in his last two games.
