Fifth consecutive LFC draw in the Premier League?

For only the third time in Premier League history, a team has started a new calendar year with four draws in a row. However, we are not talking about just any mid-table club, but the reigning English champions, Liverpool FC. Against Leeds, Fulham, Arsenal, and most recently even against the out-of-form promoted side from Burnley, the Reds had to settle for a point each time.

Although they are still in fourth place in the table, their lead over twelfth-placed Burnley is a meager six points. From the perspective of coach Arne Slot’s team, it would be all the more important for a bet on the visitors to win to come true in Saturday evening’s match between Bournemouth and Liverpool. The chances are good, especially since LFC gained a lot of confidence during the week with a 3-0 win in Marseille in the Champions League.

In addition to a possible Bournemouth vs. Liverpool prediction for an away win, a potential bet on over goals can also be considered. The home side from the southwest of England in particular provide compelling arguments for this. For example, there are only two clubs, Burnley and West Ham United, that have conceded more goals after 22 matchdays than the Cherries (41). However, because the offense is quite capable of scoring many goals itself (35), the total of 76 goals in games involving AFC Bournemouth is the highest in the English top flight. The average total number of goals is 3.45.

Over the entire season, betting on over 2.5 goals would have paid off in 64% of all season games for the 15th-placed team. In six of the last eight competitive games alone, at least three goals were scored. The most recent home games against Tottenham (3-2) and Arsenal (2-3) even ended with five goals in the course of the game. Given that the Reds have also scored twice or more in six of their last nine competitive games and have even scored more goals away than at home in this Premier League season, I think the odds on over 2.5 are definitely worth a bet ahead of the Bournemouth vs. Liverpool match.

It could also make sense to bet on a goalscorer in what is likely to be a high-scoring encounter. Florian Wirtz, who is getting better and better, is a good choice here. The German international has finally broken his goal drought and scored in three of his last five competitive games for his new club. Unlike Salah, Gakpo, or Ekitike, Wirtz is also offered at extremely attractive Bournemouth vs. Liverpool betting odds.

Bournemouth – Liverpool Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

The Cherries can easily be called Liverpool FC’s favorite opponent. This is primarily because the Cherries have lost twelve of their last 13 PL matches against the Reds. LFC’s winning streak currently stands at six games, with Liverpool scoring at least twice in all of these encounters. The first leg on the opening day of the season ended 4-2 in favor of the Reds.

In total, Bournemouth have conceded a whopping 52 goals in 17 PL matches against their upcoming opponents – more than against any other club in the English top flight. Unforgettable in this context is the heavy 9-0 defeat at Anfield Road, which, however, is already three and a half years in the past.

Bournemouth – Liverpool Tip

Liverpool FC has shared the points with its opponents four times in a row in the Premier League. The reigning Premier League champions have not lost a game in 13 consecutive matches across all competitions.

Their form can therefore be described as good, especially as they won 3-0 in Marseille during the week. Meanwhile, the home side from Bournemouth have won only one of their last 14 competitive games, had to let their best player Semenyo go to Manchester City in the winter and also have the third-weakest defense in the league.

All these factors tip the scales in favor of the Reds. So, on the one hand, I’m predicting an away win for the fourth-placed team, and on the other hand, I’m also pushing for an over 2.5 bet between Bournemouth and Liverpool.

After all, the Cherries have already scored 76 goals in 22 games – the highest in the league. Across all competitions, over 2.5 would also have been the result in seven of the last nine AFC matches. I am therefore confidently betting six units on the 1.62 offered in the Betano app!
