Third title for the DHB team?

After winning the European Championship nine years ago, the DHB team is back in the final for the European crown for the first time! Gislason’s team defeated the vice world champions from Croatia in the semifinals, while the hosts triumphed over Iceland. Denmark is once again the favorite going into the match due to its greater individual class.

In addition, the four-time world champions have home advantage and can rely on the always frenetic crowd for additional support. The comparison with the German team in the main round also speaks in favor of the home side, as they won clearly with a score of 31:26. For the European Handball Championship final between Denmark and Germany, the forecast is now again for less than 60.5 goals.

Furthermore, we believe Lukas Zerbe is capable of scoring more than 3.5 goals. In the last semifinal against Croatia, the 30-year-old scored six of his seven shots and confirmed his previously improving performance.

Denmark – Germany Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

As described, the teams already faced each other in Group 1 in the main round, with the Danes winning by five goals. Thanks to this success, the Scandinavians have now won their last seven competitive games against the DHB team.

In the upcoming European Handball Championship final between Denmark and Germany, the bookmakers’ odds point to a continuation of this series.

Denmark – Germany Tip

Germany dreams of a third European Championship title! However, the odds are not in favor of captain Johannes Golla’s team: Denmark, for its part, wants to finally triumph again at a European Championship after 2012, and coach Nikolaj Jacobsen’s team has home advantage.

The match in the main round also showed that the German team cannot keep up for 60 minutes. However, the DHB team has been convincing in the tournament, at least from a defensive point of view, and has an excellent goalkeeper in Andreas Wolff. In the recent semifinal, the Kiel keeper was once again in top form, making 13 saves.

We are therefore opting for betting odds of a maximum of 60 goals in the final between Denmark and Germany. The recent match remained below the selected limit with 57 goals, and the nature of the game supports this prediction.

The finals at the European Championships are usually very tactical and stingy with goals. Four of the last five finals have ended with fewer than 60 goals. The only exception was the last final between France and Denmark, which went into overtime after only 54 goals were scored in regular time.
