Will the Gunners march into the final?

On Tuesday evening, Arsenal and Chelsea will face each other in England in the second leg of the EFL Cup. After a 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners go into this second game against the Blues in a good position. At their home ground, the Emirates, Arteta’s team has only suffered one defeat in 18 competitive games this season – albeit in their last Premier League home game against Manchester United.

In our Arsenal vs. Chelsea prediction, we therefore forecast another unbeaten game for Arsenal, which we combine with a goal on both sides – as in the first leg.

The Gunners also enjoyed a commanding 4-0 win against newly promoted Leeds at the weekend. Viktor Gyökeres, who was already successful in the EFL Cup first leg, scored again. He has contributed four goals in the last six competitive games, which is why we are once again betting on a goal from the Swede in our Arsenal vs. Chelsea prediction.

Overall, however, Arsenal are virtually unbeatable at the Emirates – Arteta’s team have won 15 of their 18 competitive games there. These include a 2-0 win over Brighton in the fourth round of the cup and a penalty shootout victory over Crystal Palace in the quarterfinals.

Chelsea, on the other hand, won a hard-fought game against West Ham 3-2 at the weekend. Overall, the Blues are currently on a five-game winning streak – their last defeat was a 3-2 loss to Arsenal in the first leg. Their scoring rate shows a certain tendency away from home: in all three cup games, they were successful in the second half, with six of their nine goals coming after the break.

Arsenal – Chelsea Head-to-head record / H2H record

In the complete head-to-head record between Arsenal and Chelsea, the two clubs have faced each other in 196 competitive matches so far. Arsenal have won 79 times, Chelsea have won 60 times, and there have been 57 draws. The goal difference also reflects the balance of this traditional rivalry: Arsenal have scored a total of 284 goals, while Chelsea have scored 252.

A look at the League Cup shows a similar picture. In five direct matches in this competition, both teams have won two games each, with one draw. Here, too, neither team has managed to establish a lasting dominance, which further underlines the overall very balanced nature of this London derby.

Arsenal – Chelsea Tip

The Arsenal vs. Chelsea betting odds from the top bookmakers favor the Gunners in this London derby. This is hardly surprising, of course, as Arteta’s team won the first leg and has only suffered three defeats in 37 competitive games this season – just one at home. Viktor Gyökeres has been particularly effective, contributing to six goals in the last six competitive games and scoring in four separate games.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are also in good form, but not as untouchable as the Gunners. The Blues lost their last EFL Cup clash at the Emirates 2-1 in 2018, with their last cup success coming in 2013. They are currently particularly clinical after the break, with eight of their 11 goals in the competition coming after the half-time whistle.
