Will Hoffenheim’s streak continue against the champions?

After their first defeat of the season in their last home game against Augsburg, Munich want to make amends to their fans and get back to winning ways at home. Read our Bayern vs. Hoffenheim tip to find out how their chances stand in this weekend’s top Bundesliga match!

After their defeat against Augsburg, the hosts missed out on an immediate return to winning ways. In their most recent away game at the Alster against HSV, they only managed a 2-2 draw.

After two winless league games, the hosts at least no longer seem as dominant as before, when they controlled the league at will. With TSG, they now face an opponent who are coming into the game with a lot of confidence. The Sinsheimers are unbeaten in the league for seven games and have only failed to win once under coach Christian Ilzer.

Given this situation, we are predicting an away win in the match between Bayern and Hoffenheim – including a handicap of plus two goals for the visitors.

Bayern vs. Hoffenheim Prediction AI

AI has also taken a look at the match on the Isar, and the artificial intelligence has discovered value in the odds surrounding the big game at the Allianz Arena. It estimates the expected goals value at 4.11 – the highest value among all pairings in this round of matches.

Bayern – Statistics & current form

Even Munich’s star-studded squad is currently struggling due to various absences. Konrad Laimer, an important defender, is missing, and although Josip Stanišić, another key defensive player, recently returned to the squad in the match against Hamburg, he still lacks competitive practice after his injury break.

The protracted contract negotiations with Dayot Upamecano are also unhelpful from the FCB’s point of view. The extension of his contract is still not a done deal, and the haggling between the club and the French defender is increasingly being played out in public. This has caused a great deal of unrest in the squad.

Bayern lacks defensive stability

The recent lack of success is also due to the shaky defense at the club on Säbener Straße. The hosts have been waiting for a clean sheet for five rounds, and most recently, FCB has been caught off guard twice per game by rather weak offenses.

The defensive problems can also be seen in home games: three of the last five visiting teams have scored two goals. Against this backdrop, the betting odds for more than one goal by the offensively strong TSG are equally worth considering in the duel between Bayern and Hoffenheim.

Another shortcoming is that the Munich defense is struggling to get into games. Instead, FCB has fallen behind in four consecutive Bundesliga games. This is Bayern’s longest streak of this kind since November 2020 to January 2021 under Hansi Flick (9).

Munich relies on its super strike force

Against Hoffenheim, however, Bayern will rely on their still-effective offense. With 40 goals in ten home games, it is the benchmark in the Bundesliga! We therefore do not expect a shortage of goals again, which is why the odds for more than 3.5 goals are also attractive in the showdown between Bayern and Hoffenheim.

The selected limit has already been exceeded in 70 percent of the German record champions’ home games this season, and the average of 4.9 goals is a clear record in the Bundesliga home standings.

Hoffenheim – Statistics & current form

After a weak season last year, finishing 15th in the final standings, TSG has risen like a phoenix from the ashes in the current Bundesliga season. With 42 points after 20 games, TSG is having nothing less than its best Bundesliga season ever!

In the 3-point era, no third-placed team has ever had more points after 20 games, and Hoffenheim is the only club in the league to have won all five league games in 2026. One factor in the successful season is the very good age mix of the squad.

A prime example is the offense, which includes 23-year-old Fisnik Asllani, a young player brought in from Elversberg in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Kosovar immediately acclimated to the top flight and has already been involved in nine goals in 16 league appearances.

At the same time, the Kraichgauers have experienced players such as Andrej Kramaric at their disposal, who have sufficient experience in the Bundesliga. The Croatian is currently particularly impressive: he scored twice in the recent 3-1 win against Union Berlin, and since the Bundesliga restarted in 2026, Kramaric has scored five goals in five games!

Kramaric has a penchant for Bayern!

What’s more, he now has 134 goals in the league – only Robert Lewandowski (312) and Claudio Pizarro (197) rank ahead of him in the list of foreign record goalscorers in Bundesliga history! He also has a good record against his upcoming opponents: no other active Bundesliga player has scored as many goals against Bayern as Kramaric (8).

The reliability of TSG’s offense is also evident in the fact that only their upcoming opponents have scored more goals. However, the visitors will be weakened against Bayern. They will have to do without another successful new signing.

We are talking about Wouter Burger, who received a red card in the penultimate league game against Bremen and has to serve a two-game suspension for this. With four goals and five assists, the Dutch former Stoke City player from the English Championship is normally an important pillar in the TSG offense.

Hoffenheim loves to travel

In contrast, the visitors can rely on their strength away from home: only one of ten away games this season has ended in defeat for the Sinsheimers (6-3-1), and only FCB has conceded fewer goals on the road. On average, TSG concede no more than one goal per away game!

Bayern – Hoffenheim Head-to-head record

Bayern have won the last three games against Hoffenheim with a goal difference of 13:1! In addition, the hosts are unbeaten in six home games in all competitions against this opponent and have only failed to win once.

The comparison between the two coaches in this fixture also speaks for itself: Christian Ilzer has lost all three Bundesliga matches against Munich – among the current Bundesliga teams, the Austrian has only failed to score points against Cologne, but in only one match.

His counterpart at Bayern, Vincent Kompany, has won all three of his games against TSG so far, with his team scoring at least four goals in each game – something FCB under Kompany has only managed against Heidenheim. The odds for the upcoming match between Bayern and Hoffenheim once again clearly favor the hosts.

Bayern – Hoffenheim Tip

Bayern are looking back on the best first half of the season in Bundesliga history, but they have recently lost their footing.

Their previously comfortable lead at the top of the table has melted away somewhat after they picked up just one point from their last two league games, putting the home side under more pressure.

This is a new experience for coach Vincent Kompany’s team, who have been very successful in the past, and it will be interesting to see how they cope with it. While Bayern’s form is on the decline, TSG are in very stable shape.

With five wins in a row and 14 goals, Hoffenheim are currently the “team of the moment.” With that in mind, the tip for the top match between Bayern and Hoffenheim is that the visitors will not lose by more than one goal!
