Can Burnley keep up?
This week, Everton FC and Burnley FC will face off in a clash between a weak home team and a weak away team. The hosts are winless in seven home games, while the visitors have only won one of their last nine away games. As a result, the Toffees are in eighth place with 40 points, while the Clarets are in 19th place with 19 points.
Despite Burnley’s poor away form, they have shown a certain consistency in front of goal, scoring in the second half in eight of their last eleven league games on the road. Our Everton vs. Burnley tip is therefore “Burnley to score in the second half.”
Everton are unbeaten against Burnley in their last three Premier League games (two wins, one draw) and have not conceded a goal in any of those games. Their last defeat came in April 2022, when they lost 3-2 at Turf Moor. However, things have not been going well against promoted teams this season: they have failed to win any of their four league games against newly promoted teams (three draws, one defeat). For David Moyes, this is his longest winless streak against promoted teams since 2010, with five games without a win.
The biggest problem remains their home form. Everton are winless in six Premier League home games (two draws, four defeats) – their last longer winless streak was in October 1998 with nine games. The last two home games at Hill Dickinson Stadium were lost. In our Everton vs. Burnley prediction, we could therefore very well imagine that there will be no winner in this duel.
Burnley are combative away from home. In three of their last four away games, the Clarets have picked up points after falling behind (one win, two draws, one defeat). They have already picked up six away points after falling behind in 2025/26, surpassed only by the 2018/19 season with seven. Burnley have scored a total of 21 league goals while trailing, the highest in the league.
Everton’s record is historically poor: only three wins from their last 21 away games (three draws, 15 defeats), all in the 1975/76, 2017/18 and 2020/21 seasons. In their last nine visits to Liverpool, only three games have ended with more than two goals.
Everton – Burnley Head-to-head record / H2H record
The head-to-head record between Everton and Burnley covers a total of 116 competitive games, 115 of which were in the Premier League and one in the League Cup. Everton leads the overall record with 51 wins, while Burnley has 35 wins and 30 games ended in a draw.
The goal difference also favors Everton, with 188:157 goals, underlining the Toffees’ historical superiority in this duel.

Everton – Burnley Tip
The Everton vs. Burnley betting odds clearly favor the hosts from Liverpool. However, this match is not as clear-cut as the odds suggest. Although Everton have only lost three of their last 21 home games, the Toffees are winless in their last six home games this season.
However, the visitors’ away record is even worse – in 14 away games, the Clarets have only managed two wins, compared to nine defeats. On the other hand, Burnley have been accurate in front of goal, scoring at least one goal in the second half in nine of their 14 away games – and eight times in their last eleven league games.
