Nothing to gain for the Foals?

Thanks to their 3-2 away win at Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern Munich now have an eleven-point lead over second place in the Bundesliga. Virtually no one doubts that the Reds will maintain this lead and be able to present the championship trophy on Marienplatz in the summer.

Borussia Mönchengladbach is now hoping all the more that the record champions will not go into this match with their full concentration and may already have their minds on the away game at Atalanta Bergamo four days later. However, betting on Gladbach to win points against Bayern is certainly not promising.

At least the team from the Lower Rhine showed an important sign of life in the relegation battle last weekend, beating 1. FC Union Berlin 1-0 after seven consecutive Bundesliga games without a win (three draws, four defeats). Overall, however, Gladbach have scored only five goals in their last eight league games. In our opinion, there is no alternative to predicting that Bayern will win this home game against Gladbach as convincingly as they did the first leg, which ended in a 3-0 away win on October 25, 2025.

Bayern’s current success is also due to Harry Kane’s impressive form. The Briton recently scored in his seventh competitive game in a row, netting his fourth consecutive Bundesliga brace against BVB, equaling the record set by Lothar Emmerich (1967) and Tomislav Maric (2001), and is on the verge of breaking Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a season (2020/21) (currently 30).

Bayern vs. Gladbach AI prediction

While we are tempted to predict a shutout victory for Munich, given that Gladbach have scored only five goals in their last eight league games, the AI prediction for Bayern vs. Gladbach surprisingly suggests that both teams will score. The supercomputer rates the chance of goals being scored by both sides at 56.3 percent. Because Merkur Bets is offering odds of 1.81 for this betting option, which implies a probability of only 55.2 percent, this results in a positive expected value.

Bayern – Statistics & current form

FC Bayern Munich remains on course. In the Champions League, they finished second in the league phase, securing a direct ticket to the round of 16, where BVB conquerors Atalanta Bergamo now await. In the DFB Cup, the Reds are in the semifinals for the first time in five years, and the championship is also likely to be decided thanks to their recent 3-2 away win at the Schwarzgelben and their eleven-point lead over second place.

The big challenge for the record chasers from the Isar, who could still break the record of 29 wins and 91 points as well as 101 goals in a Bundesliga season, is now to maintain their concentration and not lose their focus after the decisive away win in Dortmund.

However, as we do not expect Vincent Kompany to allow his professionals to become complacent, our tip for Bayern against Gladbach is a clear victory for the record champions.

Will Bayern keep another clean sheet?

Neuer’s replacement Jonas Urbig also has a good chance of keeping a clean sheet again after conceding two goals each against Frankfurt and Dortmund (both 3-2). Bayern, who have conceded only 23 goals in 24 games, are likely to be difficult to break down from set pieces. The team from the Isar is overwhelmingly superior in open play anyway.

Even if individual mistakes are made, the chances of Gladbach, who have scored only five goals in their last eight league games, being able to capitalize on them are rather slim. Gladbach have only scored twice on the counter in the 2025/26 season. Even after their opponents lost possession, Borussia have only managed four goals. Both are the lowest figures in the league.

Gladbach – Statistics & current form

Borussia Mönchengladbach may have moved up to twelfth place in the table with their 1-0 win over Union Berlin, but in fact they are only three points ahead of the relegation zone, so the situation remains precarious. Before their home win against Köpenick, Eugen Polanski’s team had gone seven games without a win (three draws, four defeats). The team from the Lower Rhine is therefore not coming to the Allianz Arena with the greatest momentum, but they have at least managed to pick up points in two of their last four away games (one win, one draw).

Gladbach struggles in front of goal

However, the Foals’ lack of finishing is still a problem, with only 26 goals scored in 24 league games. Only four other teams in the league have scored fewer. In recent weeks in particular, there has often been a complete lack of creativity in front of goal. Borussia have scored just five goals in their last eight games. They have not scored more than one goal in any of their league games.

Against this backdrop, the Lower Rhine side’s tally is further diluted by results such as the 4-0 wins over Augsburg and St. Pauli, the 3-0 win over Heidenheim and the 3-1 win over 1. FC Köln. If you take these four games out of the equation, that leaves just twelve goals scored in the other 20 league games. Gladbach have mostly failed to score against the top clubs in particular – as was the case in the first leg against Bayern, which they lost 3-0 at home.

Bayern – Gladbach Head-to-head record / H2H balance

Head to head: 62 – 32 – 29

A total of 123 matches have already taken place between these two traditional clubs, and although Borussia Mönchengladbach has recorded an impressive 29 wins against FC Bayern Munich, the German record champions lead the head-to-head comparison very clearly with 62 wins. The last five Bundesliga duels have all gone to the Reds, who also won the first leg in the Lower Rhine 3-0.

Bayern – Gladbach Tip

Although the team from the Lower Rhine managed an important breakthrough at the bottom of the table last weekend, the risk of the Foals being crushed away at the German record champions is still extremely high. In any case, however, there is relatively no alternative to predicting a home win for Munich in Bayern vs. Gladbach.

After all, FCB has won all of its last five competitive games against Borussia and can currently enjoy the services of Harry Kane, who is in top form and has scored at least twice in four consecutive Bundesliga games.

We not only expect an easy home win for Kompany’s team, but also a very clear result in the end. A difference of at least three goals is entirely realistic, which is why we are applying a handicap of -2 to the German record champions.

Betano is offering odds of 1.93 for Bayern against Gladbach, which we are betting on with three out of ten units.
