Can the Gigliati keep the Lombards at bay?
Just 14 matchdays ago, there was a world of difference between these two opponents in this Monday night Serie A match. Fiorentina was at the bottom of the table following an unprecedented rough start, while newly promoted Cremonese looked set to stay in the league, thanks in part to results like their 2-1 away win at San Siro against AC Milan.
But then La Cremo failed to win any of their next 14 league matches (four draws, ten losses), meaning the Gigliati (the Lilies) now occupy the first non-relegation spot, one point ahead of the Grigiorossi. However, if Tip 1 comes through in Cremonese vs. Fiorentina, the Tigri would be guaranteed to return to safety on their own merits.
The problem, however, is that the Lombardy-based club has not only gone 14 league games without a win, but has also failed to score in 11 of those matches, netting just four goals in total. Even star striker Jamie Vardy has failed to deliver, with only five goals this season. Against this backdrop, a focused defensive performance should be enough for the Gigliati—who would already keep their pursuers at bay with a draw—to take home some points from the Po Valley. Consequently, the match is unlikely to be high-scoring, which is why we recommend the Match Combo on Double Chance X2 with under 3.5 goals.
However, the Viola don’t have a particularly strong away record. With just twelve goals from 14 Serie A away games, Fiorentina has earned only eleven away points. Across the league, only bottom-of-the-table Pisa (eight) has a worse record. The Gigliati are also still feeling the effects of Thursday night’s Conference League match, although Paolo Vanoli’s side has opened the door to the quarterfinals wide with a 3-0 win at Jagiellonia and will certainly not be rotating the squad for this league fixture.
Cremonese – Fiorentina Head-to-Head Record
Head to Head: 1 – 8 – 10
The two teams have faced each other in 19 competitive matches so far, and with ten wins, Fiorentina leads the head-to-head record by a wide margin. Cremonese has only managed to secure a single victory against the Viola, back in the 1928/29 season in the former Divisione Nazionale. For nearly 97 years now, the Lombards have been waiting for another win against the Gigliati, who also won the first leg in Tuscany 1-0.

Cremonese – Fiorentina Prediction
We, too, see the visitors from Tuscany as the favorites; around the turn of the year, they managed to turn things around and launched a comeback that has now lifted the traditional club back out of the relegation zone. However, the fact that the betting odds from top bookmakers for Cremonese vs. Fiorentina are so heavily in favor of the Viola is quite dangerous. After all, the Gigliati have won just two of their 14 Serie A away games in the 2025/26 season (five draws, seven losses) and have scored only twelve goals on the road.
La Cremo is also well aware of the great opportunity to abruptly end their 14-game winless streak in the league with a home victory, which could see them return to a non-relegation spot on their own merits. However, with only four goals scored in their last 14 matches, the Lombards are likely to struggle to find the back of the net against a visiting team that, above all else, does not want to lose and will lie in wait for counterattacks with a stingy defensive strategy—all without leaving themselves exposed.
