Are the Spurs finally falling apart?

Tottenham Hotspur did manage to win again during the week. However, the 3-2 victory over Atlético Madrid wasn’t enough for the hoped-for comeback after the 2-5 defeat in the first leg. Following their Champions League exit, they now face the harsh reality of Premier League life, where they haven’t won any of their last twelve league games (five draws, seven losses). The Londoners are the only team in the top flight of English soccer that has yet to secure a single victory in the 2026 calendar year, and are on track to match historic low points from 1912 and 1935. If Tottenham fails to secure a home win against Nottingham, the Lilywhites even face the threat of slipping into a direct relegation spot.

Conversely, however, this is also the perfect opportunity for the Londoners to climb out of the bottom of the table and keep their distance from a team that, despite advancing to the Europa League quarterfinals, has also failed to win in seven Premier League matches (four draws, three losses). However, the Garibaldi Reds have already won the first leg convincingly 3-0. The match is likely to be fiercely contested, and we certainly expect one or two goals. Since we see significant value in betting on the Tricky Trees to earn a point, we recommend the Match Combo on Double Chance X2 with over 1.5 goals.

Since Tottenham has already conceded eleven goals from distance this season—the highest in the league—we don’t expect the visitors to struggle in front of the opponent’s goal again. After all, only Wolverhampton remained goalless in more league games (15) than Nottingham (14) in 2025/26. Considering that Igor Tudor has lost his first two home games and could now become the first Spurs manager in history to lose his first three matches at home, the psychological pressure at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is immense.

Those who still wouldn’t rule out the Spurs pulling off a breakthrough victory can also place a neutral bet on over 2.5 goals in the match. In the Betano app, odds of 1.91 are listed for this outcome in the Tottenham vs. Nottingham match.

Tottenham – Nottingham Head-to-Head Record

Head to Head: 59 – 29 – 40

A total of 128 matches have taken place between the two teams so far, and with 59 wins, Tottenham Hotspur still leads the head-to-head record. Recently, however, the rivalry has clearly been in Nottingham Forest’s favor.

The Tricky Trees not only won the first leg at home 3-0 but have also won all three of their most recent Premier League matches against the Spurs.

Tottenham – Nottingham Prediction

While the Spurs are desperately searching for their first win of the new year, Nottingham Forest under Vítor Pereira is a tough opponent, at least on the road in London. After all, they’ve recently secured wins at West Ham and Brentford. Consequently, the prediction for Tottenham vs. Nottingham is particularly intriguing: the Tricky Trees could secure a statement win against a direct rival in their relegation battle, especially since the Garibaldi Reds advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals after a hard-fought match midweek and gained additional confidence.

Given the Lilywhites’ defensive vulnerability—they’ve already conceded 47 goals in 30 league games—we believe the Tricky Trees’ occasional lack of clinical finishing in front of the opponent’s goal won’t be too much of a factor. Given the relegation worries that would intensify for both teams if they fail to win, the match on the Thames is unlikely to be a low-scoring affair. Accordingly, the combined bet on Double Chance X2 with over 1.5 goals is a logical choice.
