Will LA extend their winning streak?

The visitors from the West Coast face a tough road game with their brief stop at Little Caesars Arena. The home team leads the Eastern Conference and has won 77.1 percent of its games in front of its own fans this season.

Both teams are currently performing consistently: Coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s home team has lost only once in its last seven games, and the visitors arrive on the back of a nine-game winning streak!

For LA, this run represents a significant upswing, and their chances of making the playoffs have clearly improved—the Lakers currently sit in third place in the West. Given their particularly impressive form, the outlook for an away win in the matchup between the Detroit Pistons and the LA Lakers looks promising.

Furthermore, we expect Jalen Duren to score more than 22.5 points for the home team. The center has been delivering consistent scoring performances lately.

In fact, Green has scored at least 23 points in each of the past five games and recorded no fewer than four double-doubles in points and rebounds! Another factor supporting this prediction is that Cade Cunningham, the home team’s top scorer, is sidelined due to injury, making the team even more reliant on him offensively than usual.

Detroit Pistons – LA Lakers Head-to-Head Record

The teams have already faced off once this season. The matchup took place in Los Angeles at the end of December last year and ended with a decisive 128-106 road win for the Lakers from Little Caesars Arena.

Thanks to this win, the three-time NBA champions have now won three straight games against this opponent. For the upcoming showdown between the Detroit Pistons and the LA Lakers, however, the odds slightly favor a victory for the visitors from the Pacific Division.

Detroit Pistons – LA Lakers Prediction

Midway through the month, Luka Donic broke the 50-point mark for the first time since joining the Lakers last year, and the Slovenian’s current strong form epitomizes the visitors’ upward trend. The 17-time NBA champions have won their last nine games, and Coach J. J. Redick can be thoroughly satisfied with his team at the moment.

Now, however, the Western Conference representative faces a challenging task. The hosts from Motown are the only team in the East to have already qualified for the playoffs and are strong at home.

However, the home team’s roster situation is not ideal at the moment, as they have to do without Cade Cunningham. The absence of the 2021 first overall pick is a clear blow to the Pistons.

This is evident from the fact that Cunningham has once again led the home team in points and assists this season! We are therefore betting on an away win in the game between the Detroit Pistons and the LA Lakers.
