Will the Aquile make another push for the top third?
On Monday evening, the Eternal City will host a clash between two teams that find themselves in the middle of the table with five matchdays remaining in the season. The Aquile (the Eagles) sit ninth with 47 points, while the visitors from Friuli are eleventh with four points fewer.
Neither team is in danger of relegation. In the battle for European spots, however, only the Biancocelesti can still get back in the mix if Lazio Rome beats Udinese and the teams in the top third of the table continue to slip up.
All things considered, the Laziali’s overall lackluster season could still end on a high note. During the week, the capital club finally advanced to the Coppa Italia final via a penalty shootout against Atalanta Bergamo, thanks to Edoardo Motta saving four penalties, where Inter Milan awaits at the end of May. That could be the ticket to the Europa League for Maurizio Sarri’s generally very defensive-minded squad.
It remains to be seen how much energy the Aquile will have left for Monday night’s match against the Zebrette. Given that Lazio matches under Sarri in 2025/26 have consistently been low-scoring affairs, we’re best off going with the Lazio vs. Udinese prediction of under 2.5 goals.
In 33 Serie A matches, the Biancocelesti have scored just 34 goals, but conversely have conceded only 30. No other Serie A club has averaged fewer goals. Udinese, however, is also known for low-scoring matches, failing to score in three of their last five league games, though they also kept a clean sheet in the same number of matches (one 0-0 draw, two shutout wins, and two shutout losses).
Lazio Rome – Udinese Head-to-Head Record
Head to Head: 48 – 28 – 29
A total of 105 matches have already taken place between the two teams, and with 48 wins, Lazio Rome leads the head-to-head record. Currently, however, the Aquile are going through a bit of a rough patch against Udinese Calcio. The capital club has been waiting for another win against the Friulani for four Serie A matches now (two draws, two losses). In the first leg on December 27, 2025, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Lazio Rome – Udinese Prediction
The Biancocelesti’s form has been quite impressive recently, with four wins in their last six league matches (one draw, one loss) and a haul of 13 out of a possible 18 points, although this run of form—which also included victories over Milan (1-0), Bologna (2-0), and Napoli (2-0), may have come too late to secure a spot in a UEFA competition via the league.
However, the Aquile have now also reached the Coppa Italia final. Nevertheless, we find it difficult to predict a home win for Lazio in their match against Udinese, especially since the visitors from Friuli have remained unbeaten in their last three away games (two wins, one draw).
Furthermore, the team from the Eternal City hasn’t won any of their last four Serie A matches against the Zebrette (two draws, two losses), which is why we wouldn’t rule anything out. Time and again, both defensively focused teams have struggled to score goals, so a bet on a low-scoring Monday night match on the Tiber seems like the logical choice. For under 2.5 goals, Bet-at-home is offering odds of 1.63 for Lazio vs. Udinese, which we’re backing with six out of ten units.
