Will the Andalusians capitalize on the chaos in Madrid?

Real Madrid just can’t seem to catch a break these days. Amid the lost Clásico, which buried any remaining hopes of the title, Thouaméni and Valverde clashed in training. While reports spoke of physical altercations and a locker room atmosphere as somber as a funeral, Mbappé was filmed on the training field laughing and in high spirits.

It was also the goal-scorer who, during the week’s 2-0 win against Oviedo, took a dig at coach Álvaro Arbeloa in an interview, claiming the coach had officially demoted him to the fourth-string striker. Given these antics, it’s hard to imagine that the bet on a Real Madrid away win in Andalusia against Sevilla will pay off.

After all, Sevilla FC’s survival isn’t guaranteed yet, even though three straight wins have given them a four-point lead over the first relegation spot. Thus, the Nervionenses could theoretically secure their place in the league on Sunday with a home win against the record champions. Luis García’s side will certainly not lack motivation, while Real Madrid is currently being bogged down by off-field issues. Given the Rojiblancos’ momentum, we therefore see real value in taking the underdog’s side in this matchup and betting on a home win for the Andalusians.

It must be noted that the Royals possess enough individual quality to secure an away win at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán even without a cohesive team performance. However, with second place already set in stone—11 points behind Barcelona and 11 points ahead of Villarreal—the Blancos are guaranteed not to go all out. This suggests a match that will generally be low-scoring.

In addition to the neutral tip of under 2.5 goals—for which odds of 2.15 are available in the Bet-at-home app for Sevilla vs. Real Madrid—the bet that the Merengues will score no more than one away goal in Andalusia is also highly favored.

Sevilla – Real Madrid Head-to-Head Record

Head to Head: 57 – 32 – 109

A total of 198 competitive matches have already taken place between these two historic clubs, with Real Madrid winning the majority of them, 109 in total.

Sevilla FC has been waiting since September 2018 for another win against the Blancos, who are now on a 14-game unbeaten streak against the Andalusians in league play (twelve wins, two draws) and also won the first leg 2-0.

Sevilla – Real Madrid Prediction

While the Rojiblancos have a golden opportunity to dispel any remaining doubts about their league survival with their first three points against the record champions since 2018, the proud capital club is currently sinking into complete chaos.

Against this backdrop, we can’t quite understand why the top bookmakers are setting the odds for Sevilla vs. Real Madrid so heavily in favor of the visitors, who, moreover, have won only three of their last nine competitive matches across all competitions (two draws, four losses) and are clearly longing for the end of the season so they can put a checkmark next to a title-less campaign.

Admittedly, there is a fundamental risk involved. However, after three straight wins, confidence has returned to the Nervionenses under coach Luis García, who was only hired at the end of March, which is why we’re predicting a home win for the Andalusians in Sevilla vs. Real Madrid.
