Will the in-form Italian also reach the semifinals?

Only eight players remain in the hunt for the title in Paris, and we’re here to give you our take on the quarterfinal match between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli. The Italian has continued to improve this year.

After reaching the second round two years ago, he made it to the third round last year, and now the pro from Florence has even reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. His opponent from Canada, for his part, has already reached the semifinals twice at this level, but in Paris, the quarterfinals are also new territory for him after two round-of-16 appearances in 2022 and 2024.

Given his performances leading up to the tournament on the Seine, this was also rather unexpected. For example, Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the first round of the two previous clay-court Masters tournaments in Madrid and Rome.

However, he has now regained his former strength just in time for the 2026 French Open. In contrast, Cobolli was already performing strongly even before the tournament in the French capital.

The Italian, who is coached by his father, has already reached the final of this year’s clay-court tournament in Munich and the quarterfinals of the Madrid Masters. Furthermore, he has been more consistent at the French Open than his opponent.

In his four matches so far, he has dropped only one set. By comparison, the Canadian has already lost four sets, despite facing a similarly tough draw.

Given this, we are predicting another victory for the Italian in the match between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli. However, given the close nature of the matchup, we also anticipate that the match will at least go to a tiebreak.

Félix Auger-Aliassime – Flavio Cobolli Head-to-Head Record

The two players have faced each other three times so far, and the player from Tuscany has always come out on top. However, only one of the Italian’s victories came without dropping a set. For the next matchup between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli, the odds currently show no clear favorite.

Félix Auger-Aliassime – Flavio Cobolli Prediction

Flavio Cobolli particularly enjoys playing on clay: Two of his three tournament victories on the ATP Tour to date have come on this surface, as have his only two wins at the Challenger level.

This assessment has been confirmed by his convincing performances at the French Open so far. On top of that, Cobolli was already playing effectively in the lead-up to the tournament on the Seine.

In Madrid, he reached the quarterfinals of a Masters event for the first time in his career. Although he now faces an opponent from Montreal who is ranked eight places higher in the world rankings and also has more experience, we currently consider the Italian to be the stronger player.

In light of this assessment, we see sufficient value in the betting odds for a Canadian loss in the match between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli.
