Goal fest in Boston?
The battle for first place in the group promises to be highly exciting in my Norway vs. France prediction. Both teams are tied at the top of Group I with six points heading into the final matchday. And let me say this right off the bat in my Norway vs. France forecast—I don’t see Les Bleus as nearly as clear-cut favorites in this matchup as the bookmakers do.
Given that the underdog has nothing to lose, I expect a bold and attacking performance from the Norwegians, as always in their high-risk 4-3-3 formation. I see value in betting on the Lions to score at least one goal, and anyone looking to take a bit more of a risk can certainly bet on the Scandinavians to score more than one goal in Norway vs. France, even with a slightly smaller stake.
After all, the Northern Europeans have Erling Haaland in their ranks, who—just like his counterpart Kylian Mbappé—is chasing the new World Cup record-holder Messi (5 goals so far) with four goals of his own. So, considering the offensive talent on the field in Boston, goals seem almost inevitable.
However, I definitely think the odds for more than two goals in the Norway vs. France match and for both teams to score are set too high. Given the brilliantly stacked attacking lines of both teams, I expect several goals in the upcoming showdown in Boston.
Norway vs. France AI Prediction
The Norway vs. France AI prediction is almost in line with Betano Sportsbook’s odds regarding a victory for the favorite. The AI also considers the underdog’s chances of winning to be overestimated, putting them at just 22.8%, while Betano’s odds imply a 23.8% chance of victory.
Norway – Statistics & Current Form
While I don’t think this small country from Northern Europe has what it takes to win the World Cup, I do expect Stale Solbakken’s team to play a role in this tournament beyond the group stage.
Can Norway hold its own against the World Cup runner-up?
After all, the Lions boast two truly exceptional talents on offense in Erling Haaland and Alexander Sorloth. This dangerous attacking duo is flanked by Leipzig’s young star Antonio Nusa. The Norwegians’ forward line is certainly impressive and can cause problems for any defense at this World Cup.
That’s why I expect Solbakken’s team to score again against the World Cup runners-up—and perhaps even pick up a point as the underdog. Especially since Norway has already secured at least second place in the group and can therefore play without pressure. Seven goals in their two group-stage matches so far show just how dangerous the Northern Europeans’ attack is.
Given all the goals they’ve scored, it’s currently not a major concern that the Norwegians have some defensive issues and have kept a clean sheet only once in their last ten international matches.

France – Statistics & Current Form
Once again, France is among the top favorites at this World Cup. Didier Deschamps’ team has navigated the group stage with flying colors so far. Neither the Africa Cup of Nations finalist Senegal nor Iraq proved to be a hurdle for Les Bleus in the first two group matches.
Will France win its third group match as well?
The French have numerous world-class individual talents in their ranks, and I believe some of them have a real shot at the Golden Ball—the trophy awarded to the best player of the 2026 World Cup. First and foremost are the offensive stars led by Bayern’s Michael Olise and the newly crowned Champions League winner Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain.
Rounding out this already lethal duo are Désiré Doue and Kylian Mbappé, who also has legitimate hopes of winning the Golden Boot as the top scorer of this World Cup. Against the Scandinavians’ defense—which is vulnerable due to their attacking style of play—Real Madrid’s star striker could add to his already outstanding tally of four goals from the first two group stage matches.

Norway – France Head-to-Head Record
The two teams have faced each other a total of 16 times so far, with France winning half of those matches. Norway has won four times, and there have been four draws. Apart from the Olympics, the two nations have never faced each other in a major tournament. The remaining matches took place in European Championship and World Cup qualifiers, as well as in friendly matches. However, these matches are all far in the past and are not particularly indicative of the upcoming match.
The most recent four matches between the two teams were friendlies, with the last three being high-scoring affairs. Although the last encounter took place twelve years ago, I expect another lively match this coming Friday, which is why I’m betting on a high-scoring game in the Norway vs. France matchup.
Norway vs. France Prediction
Two teams that have been impressive across the board so far will face off this coming Friday in Boston in the battle for first place in Group I. What stands out most in my Norway vs. France prediction are the attacking lines of both teams. Norway has already scored seven times, and France six times, in their first two group stage matches.
The strong attacking lines of both teams are also unlikely to be shut down for the full 90 minutes in their upcoming clash. That’s why, in my Norway vs. France prediction, I expect both teams to find the back of the net and for there to be more than two goals scored in total during this match.
I also believe Norway’s “golden generation” is capable of remaining undefeated once again against the favorites from France. However, since the Equipe Tricolore is also a tough nut to crack, I consider a draw in the upcoming match to be a value pick.
A single point would be enough for the French to win the group, which is why Didier Deschamps is unlikely to take any risks if the score is close at the end of the match. I’m predicting a 2-2 or 3-3 draw.
