No chance for the Vorarlbergers?
There’s a strong case to be made that, on Matchday 1 of the Austrian Bundesliga, the pick for a home win by SK Rapid in their clash with Altach will come through. After all, the Green-Whites are already fully in competitive mode and have shown impressive early-season form. They had no trouble at all in either the Conference League qualifiers or the ÖFB Cup.
They handled both challenges with ease, winning all three matches and even crushing Santa Coloma in the Conference League with an aggregate score of 9–3. The Vorarlbergers, on the other hand, struggled to eke out a meager 1-0 away win in the cup against the lower-division underdog SV Leobendorf.
