Who Will Return to Winning Ways?

The second round of the Coppa Italia is coming up, and we’re here to provide you with a tip for the matchup between two Serie A teams: Torino FC vs. Monza. The home team at the Olympic Stadium in Turin is approaching this match with complete confidence from a statistical standpoint: Looking back over the past nearly 30 years, the visitors haven’t managed a single victory in this fixture!

Currently, however, the two teams are playing at a similar level. After triumphs in the first round of the Coppa Italia against lower-division opponents, both teams kicked off their Serie A campaigns with losses. Admittedly, though, the challenges were tough: “Il Toro” faced Milan, and Monza took on defending champions Inter.

Things didn’t improve during last weekend’s dress rehearsals, though. Both clubs suffered defeats again, this time against beatable teams in Sassuolo and Udinese. We therefore don’t see the teams as being up to speed yet—nor as being on equal footing.

Given the playoff-like nature of this matchup, a tactically oriented game is on the horizon anyway. In light of this situation, we’re predicting a draw in regulation time for the clash between Turin FC and Monza.

At the same time, however, a scoreless draw doesn’t seem likely. The offenses on both sides are mentally back from the summer break: In all three competitive matches this season, they’ve scored at least once. With that in mind, betting on both teams to score in the match between Turin FC and Monza is also worth considering.

Turin FC – Monza Head-to-Head Record

As mentioned at the beginning, Turin is not a friendly place for the visiting “Brianzoli.” Looking back at the past twelve matchups, Monza has yet to secure a win in this fixture, and the majority (7) ended in a loss for the team promoted from Serie B. For the upcoming match between Turin FC and Monza, the odds now slightly favor a victory for the hosts.

Turin FC – Monza Prediction

The home team, the “Granata,” finished last season in Serie A in twelfth place, in the middle of the pack. Their start to the new Serie A season has been even weaker, with two losses.

However, their upcoming opponent has posted the same record. Both clubs are therefore looking to secure at least one success in the Coppa Italia.

However, given their respective poor form, there is no clear favorite. In light of this situation, we’re predicting a draw in the matchup between Turin FC and Monza.

This Coppa Italia prediction is also supported by the statistics: Three of Turin’s last five home games against the “Biancorossi” have already ended in a draw.
