Will Haaland & Co. end their losing streak against their neighbors?

After failing to qualify for the World Cup, the Danish national soccer team is now looking to win back the fans’ affection in the Nations League. However, a Norway vs. Denmark prediction favoring a victory for the visitors isn’t looking particularly promising, as the team is not only still missing Christian Eriksen—who collapsed on the field again during the last international match against Ukraine—but now also Barcelona star Andreas Christensen. As if these absences weren’t painful enough, “Danish Dynamite” must also reshuffle its goalkeeping lineup following Kasper Schmeichel’s retirement. But: After all, they haven’t lost any of their last six international matches against neighboring Norway (four wins, two draws).

Nevertheless, there’s no question that the Norwegian team is currently in far better form. The Vikings just reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, where—after defeating Brazil—they narrowly lost to England in extra time. Against this backdrop, our Norway vs. Denmark prediction is that Erling Haaland and company will win a match against neighboring Denmark for the first time in over 26 years. The Manchester City striker is already in excellent early-season form. Although one of his strike partners, Alexander Sörloth, is out, Haaland—along with captain Martin Ödegaard—is likely to bring simply too much offensive firepower for the struggling Danes to withstand in the end.

That said, it’s also worth noting that, despite all their offensive firepower, the Norwegians have kept a clean sheet in only one of their last 13 international matches. Accordingly, it would make sense to either bet directly on “Over Goals” or select a Match Combo.

Also interesting: the combined bet on Double Chance 1X with over 1.5 goals. This bet covers numerous possibilities—including a potential 1-1 draw, which would certainly be a small step toward redemption for the Danes.

Norway – Denmark Head-to-Head Record

Head-to-Head: 21 – 13 – 55

This matchup between the two nations has taken place a total of 89 times so far, and with 55 wins, Denmark has a clear edge.

The Danes have also won the last three meetings, meaning they haven’t lost to the Norwegians in a total of six international matches (four wins, two draws). Norway’s last victory dates back as far as February 2000.

Norway vs. Denmark Prediction

Ultimately, the only thing working against the home team is their poor head-to-head record; they haven’t beaten their neighbors since 2000. While the 1992 European champions ultimately missed the World Cup, Haaland and his teammates upset big names like Brazil (2–1) and even made it to the quarterfinals.

Although both teams have players out, overall, Danish coach Brian Riemer has to do without more key players and also find a new starting goalkeeper. On the Norwegian side, however, in addition to Haaland, Ögegaard is also ready to play, and he’s capable of setting up the in-form wingers Andreas Schjelderup and Antonio Nusa.

While it’s true that the Vikings have kept a clean sheet in only one of their last 13 international matches, we believe Norway’s sheer offensive power should be enough to kick off the Nations League with a home win.
