Will Poland get revenge in Solna?
While the Swedish national soccer team got off to a successful start in Nations League Group B4 with a 2-1 victory over Romania, Poland could not manage more than a 0-0 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina in front of their home crowd.
If the Biało-Czerwoni (the White-and-Reds) fail to secure a win against Poland in Sweden as well, coach Jan Urban will finally find himself in deep water. The coach is already facing criticism for clinging too rigidly to his tried-and-true starters and blocking the overhaul needed after the team’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
Many key players in the Orly squad are currently not in top form. Even their go-to guy, Robert Lewandowski, looked off his game. Given that in-form players like Karol Czubak—who’s currently scoring at will in the Ekstraklasa—or young star Bartosz Maturek of Red Bull Salzburg were left out, the Polish lineup in Solna is likely to be very conservative once again.
Against this backdrop, our prediction for Sweden vs. Poland is that the Biało-Czerwoni will once again struggle. We therefore recommend betting that the visitors will remain scoreless at halftime.
In general, we shouldn’t expect a particularly high-scoring match. Under Graham Potter, the Swedes also tend to start by playing from a compact defensive block and try to implement their transition game through players like Isak and Gyökeres.
However, the Blagult often play it a bit too safe when they’re in the lead. On top of that, given the enormous pressure they’re under in Solna, the Bialo-Czerwoni will certainly want to avoid conceding an early goal. Accordingly, it makes sense to bet on a low-scoring match in general.

For the Polish team, this away game at the Strawberry Arena is a true do-or-die match.
Not only is it about erasing the embarrassment of their failed World Cup qualification, but in the Nations League as well, the goal was clearly to return to League A. A goal that now appears to be directly jeopardized by a scoreless draw at home against Bosnia.
Consequently, not only the fans but also the team’s leadership now expect a clear response. The big question, however, is whether Jan Urban is the right coach for the job—a coach who, through his roster selections and half-baked squad structure, has already shown that he prefers to rely on established players who are out of form rather than driving the urgently needed overhaul. After all, the Orly had already suffered a crushing defeat in the 2024 European Championship qualifiers before finally securing their ticket to the final round via the playoffs with a victory over Estonia—only to be eliminated without fanfare as the bottom team in their group during the actual tournament.
The Tre Kronor, on the other hand, are very difficult to play against under Graham Potter. Sweden is compact defensively and has developed a very dangerous transition game. With Isak and Gyökeres, they also have two players capable of scoring goals even from minimal chances. Poland will therefore have to be careful and avoid walking into a trap. We therefore expect a tactically oriented game, especially in the first half.
