Will the Eagles Have Another Easy Win?
Our Bears vs. Eagles pick could have been a preview of a truly top-tier matchup—but then Bears quarterback Caleb Williams got injured last Sunday. Now they’ll have to take the field with their third-string QB, Case Keenum (No. 2 Bagent has a concussion), and the odds are clearly in the Eagles’ favor.
After the Bears’ offense managed only three points against the Vikings with Williams, we’re not optimistic about their chances against the Eagles’ equally strong defense. We’d be surprised if they could score more than 20 points with a backup QB.
Since their own defense allows an average of 23.0 points and the Eagles have looked more consistent on offense lately, our prediction for Bears vs. Eagles is a clear road win for Philly. The only thing we need to keep an eye on is whether Saquon Barkley is 100% after suffering a stinger last Sunday. If he takes the field without any issues, however, he should have a good chance of scoring a touchdown against this run defense (which allows an average of 122 yards).
In addition to betting on the Eagles, betting on the Bears to score few points is also an option. Since they aren’t yet gelled with Case Keenum, the odds on Chicago scoring under 17.5 points in Chicago vs. Philadelphia are particularly interesting.
Chicago Bears – Philadelphia Eagles Head-to-Head Record
The Eagles have won six of the last seven meetings, including the last three games at Soldier Field in Chicago. So there’s likely no reason to fear this historic venue, especially now that they’re facing the Bears’ third-string quarterback.
The Bears’ only chance will be to turn the game into a low-scoring affair (e.g., something like 17–14), as has often been the case between these two teams. However, with their currently weak defense—which allows 362.0 yards per game, the sixth-most among all teams—this is nearly impossible.
Chicago Bears – Philadelphia Eagles Pick
There’s little to suggest Chicago will prevail in this matchup. Even with Williams, they’d be considered underdogs against this solid Philly team—and even more so without him. Not even an absence by Eagles running back Barkley (which is currently unlikely) would change that.
So for Bears vs. Eagles, a bet on the Eagles -4.5 is our clear recommendation. This is followed by under bets on Chicago, as they’re likely to struggle to get into the Eagles’ red zone with a backup QB. Field goal bets on Chicago are also a valid option.
For a player bet, we have to go with the Eagles’ running backs. If Barkley is at 100%, a TD bet on Barkley is our top pick. If Barkley doesn’t play, we can pass that bet directly on to Tank Bigsby.
