Will the Rams’ nightmare start continue?
It’s a matchup between a co-favorite and the top favorite in our Eagles vs. Rams pick for Sunday night, though Philly, with a 2-1 record so far, is in slightly better shape than the highly rated Rams.
For the Eagles, this is mainly due to the departure of AJ Brown and the hiring of a new offensive coordinator, whose style isn’t yet clearly evident. Now, wide receiver DeVonta Smith is also out for the game against Los Angeles, which won’t help the offense.
For the Rams, superstar Myles Garrett will remain sidelined. Wide receiver Puka Nacua is also still “questionable,” and even if he plays, he’s definitely not likely to be back at 100 percent after his several-week break.
All of this leads us to expect a completely even matchup, which makes predicting the Eagles vs. Rams game difficult. The game could come down to the final drive, in which case the team with the last possession often wins. This heated NFC showdown kicks off Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Philadelphia.
It’s not so easy to predict what kind of game we’ll see here. However, given the struggles both teams are facing, we can expect a close matchup, which makes the odds on Philly a bit more favorable for Eagles vs. Rams, especially since they’re now even at +3.5.
Philadelphia Eagles – Los Angeles Rams Head-to-Head Record
Philly has won the last four head-to-head matchups, which is another reason not to underestimate them in this matchup. Yes, they’ll be without their No. 1 receiver, DeVonta Smith, but often such a situation has been the catalyst for rookies to step up and take the reins—we’re keeping an eye on Makai Lemon here.
Furthermore, the last three matchups between these teams have all been high-scoring games with at least 50 total points. For Eagles vs. Rams, we can also highlight the betting odds on the over 43.5 points, which we believe are set quite low.
Philadelphia Eagles – Los Angeles Rams Pick
The Eagles are playing at home, where they’re incredibly tough to beat. Over the past four years, they’ve never lost more than three games per season at Lincoln Financial Field, and they remain undefeated there this season as well. We should keep that in mind when we see their status as moderate underdogs with the bookmakers.
In that regard, for Eagles vs. Rams, a bet on Eagles +3.5 is the more viable option for us. That way, we’d still be covered even in the event of a narrow Rams victory (which is certainly possible). However, since several bookmakers are currently offering a boost on an Eagles win, we can also consider that bet.
When it comes to player bets, though, we’re still focusing on the Rams, who have Kyren Williams—a TD machine from the preseason (13 touchdowns)—on their roster. Therefore, a TD bet on Williams is our preferred player bet.
