Will there be another Catalan show of strength?
Before we turn our attention to the Barcelona vs. Getafe prediction for Saturday night’s match, it’s important to note that Flick’s team has been charging through the season like a train with no brakes, racking up eight wins in their first eight competitive matches. In the process, the team led by the former German national team coach has scored an incredible 36 goals—more than four goals per game.
In La Liga as well, the Blaugrana are already perched at the top of the table after seven matchdays, five points ahead of Atlético Madrid. Right now, the reigning champions seem to be in a league of their own.
Given this dominance, the question of the Barcelona vs. Getafe prediction on the 1X2 market doesn’t even arise. Anything other than a commanding home win for Barca would be a major surprise, for which there are hardly any compelling arguments.
With a bit of imagination, the unusually long international break could at least be cited as a minor risk factor, since Barcelona had to send nearly their entire squad away, while Getafe was able to continue training together and some Barca stars accumulated additional fatigue.
However, that doesn’t in any way dissuade me from betting on the Catalans, especially since Raphinha, Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal, and company possess such high individual quality that Barcelona is unlikely to lose much of its momentum even after the forced break.
To put this in perspective: In seven La Liga matches, the reigning champions have already scored 29 goals—more than four per game—while in three of their four home games across all competitions so far, they’ve scored at least five goals. Furthermore, they’ve won every competitive match by a margin of at least two goals; in five out of eight cases, the margin was even at least three goals.
It’s accordingly hard to imagine that Getafe, currently in 11th place in the standings, can seriously challenge what is arguably the best offense in the world right now. However, I do believe the Azulones are capable of scoring a goal of their own, even though they have the second-least potent offense in Spain’s top flight, with just four goals after seven matchdays.
Barcelona has, after all, conceded at least one goal in four consecutive competitive matches and has failed to keep a clean sheet in three straight La Liga games—including the 7–2 win over Racing Santander and the 4–2 victory against Levante.
Given this trend and the fact that Getafe, as a Conference League participant, certainly has quality and has nothing to lose at Camp Nou anyway, I see value in a Barcelona win combined with both teams scoring. The Barcelona vs. Getafe odds for this bet are up to 2.55 at Winamax.
Barcelona vs. Getafe Head-to-Head Record
The Barcelona vs. Getafe betting odds reflect the Catalans’ clear status as favorites; they’ve now gone eleven games unbeaten against the Azulones. However, Getafe has managed to earn points in four of their last nine matches against Barcelona, repeatedly throwing a wrench in the reigning champions’ plans.
Particularly notable: Three of these nine matches ended scoreless, while Getafe has scored only once in their last nine head-to-head encounters. Consequently, the odds for another shutout victory by Barcelona are lower than those for a Catalan win in which they concede a goal. That, however, won’t stop me from betting that the underdog will find the back of the net at Camp Nou.

Barcelona vs. Getafe Prediction
After a perfect start to the season, Barcelona enters the match against Getafe as the overwhelming favorite. The Blaugrana have now recorded 22 consecutive La Liga home wins, while the Azulones have yet to earn a single point or score a goal on the road this season.
Even though the head-to-head record generally favors Barca, Getafe has repeatedly shown in recent years that they can give the favorites a run for their money, at least at times. The key factor for my Barcelona vs. Getafe pick is therefore less about predicting the winner and more about finding a more attractive betting option.
I’m therefore favoring the combination of a Barcelona win and “Both Teams to Score” at odds of 2.55 on Winamax and betting three units on it. One argument in its favor is the unusual workload faced by many Barca stars, who played four international matches during the international break and are therefore unlikely to return at peak fitness.
In addition, Barcelona has failed to keep a clean sheet in four consecutive matches, while Flick’s team’s attacking style consistently creates chances at both ends. It’s precisely this mix of tremendous offensive power and a certain defensive vulnerability that makes this combination more interesting to me than a straight home win.
