Will the Jaguars take Wembley by storm, too?
The NFL is heading to Wembley Stadium in London, and this year’s matchup features our Jaguars vs. Texans pick. It’s a clash of opposites despite both teams being in the same division. While the Jags have gotten off to a great start with a 4-1 record, Houston’s 1-4 record clearly indicates a rough start to the season.
As for the 2027 Super Bowl odds, the Texans have slipped all the way down to 15th place and have been significantly overtaken by the Jaguars (6th place). This means the preseason prediction has practically flipped.
But who will win this Sunday afternoon in what is likely to be a surprisingly sunny London? Despite their contrasting starts to the season, this is a matchup between evenly matched teams that can more or less be described as a 50-50 contest. Especially since the Texans have just signed Marvin Harrison, who should immediately provide a solid No. 2 option on offense.
So, for Jaguars vs. Texans, our prediction is a hard-fought matchup in which—as is often the case in London games—we won’t see too many total points. The AFC South matchup kicks off Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in London.
As with the first two London games, we’re expecting the total to go under again on Sunday. This makes the betting odds for the Jaguars vs. Houston game—specifically, Under 42.5 and Under 20.5 points in the first half—particularly interesting. We’d rather steer clear of betting on a winner in this unpredictable matchup.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Houston Texans Head-to-Head Record
Houston has won three of the last four meetings, including the most recent matchup just under a year ago. However, that game was played in Houston—now the Texans face slightly greater travel fatigue due to their trip to England.
In previous International Games, the team that had spent slightly more time in the host country preparing for the game has always won. Last Sunday, that was once again the Jaguars against the Eagles, which means the Jags now have a full week in London without any travel fatigue.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Houston Texans Prediction
The Jags are considered slight favorites not only because of their better start but also because of their “home-field advantage.” In addition, they’ve scored 2.6 more points per game so far and allowed 8.4 fewer points. That sounds one-sided, but the Texans have also faced significantly tougher opponents.
In that sense, it’s only half the story. What we can take away from this, however, is that the Jags’ defense—allowing just 14.0 points per game—is one of the best in the league. Since the Texans’ defense is already considered a top-3 unit, our clear No. 1 betting recommendation for Jacksonville vs. Houston is an Under 42.5 total points bet.
For a player bet, we’re looking—somewhat surprisingly—to the Texans. However, with Nico Collins, they have arguably the best wide receiver on the field. That makes a TD bet on Collins our preferred player bet—and also because the Texans can’t run the ball anyway.
