Which offense will put on the bigger fireworks display?

Monday night is prime time. Whatever the NFL had in mind, the two games, including our Lions vs. Buccaneers tip, are among the most exciting matchups on NFL Game Day 7. While Monday nights are often reserved for mediocre games, this matchup can be described as a duel between two dark horses for Super Bowl 2026.

This is especially true for the two offenses, which are both among the top six offensive lines in the NFL. Together, the two teams score 59.3 points per game, so it would not be a big surprise if we were to see a high-scoring duel.

The Lions are considered the favorites in their home stadium. However, they should not underestimate Tampa. After all, they have won all three of their away games so far, albeit always by a maximum of three points.

So our prediction for Lions vs. Buccaneers is a high-scoring game that could turn into a real thriller in the end. Ultimately, however, we see the Lions having the advantage, as they have a strong offense and a slightly better defense in terms of both yards and points scored.

Kick-off for the first of two Monday Night Games is at 1:00 a.m. in Detroit on Tuesday night. The game will be broadcast live by streaming provider DAZN, as will the second game immediately afterwards.

Detroit Lions – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

The Lions should not underestimate the Bucs, as recent head-to-head matchups have shown. Last year, the Buccaneers won 20-16 in Detroit. And overall, they have won three of the last four matchups in Motor City.

Incidentally, they also scored an average of 32.0 points in those four matchups. This figure, combined with the Lions’ average at home this season (an incredible 43.0 points), leads us to conclude that Monday night will be a high-scoring game.

The scheduled 52.5 total points seem very low to us, which is why our clear betting recommendation for Lions vs. Buccaneers is the over. However, we also have Tampa’s over 22.5 points on our list, as they have exceeded this number in five of their six games this season.

Detroit Lions – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tip

The Lions are very strong again this year, but not quite as consistent as they were last season. That’s why they already have two losses on their record and why we’re not particularly fond of this rather large handicap of -5.5.

Fortunately, we have the total points as an alternative, which is supported by pretty much every statistic (both current and past). So for Lions vs. Bucs, the betting odds on over 52.5 total points are our choice. Followed by further point bets – on both Detroit and Tampa.

As a player bet, we have identified Rashaad White as our TD tip for this matchup. He has found the end zone three times in the last two games, and his biggest competitor for the position, Bucky Irving, will be out for at least one more game.
