No chance for the decimated Mavs?

November 2 is “Día de Muertos” in Mexico – one of the country’s most important holidays. The dead are honored, but this year the date is also a day of celebration for Mexican basketball fans. As part of the NBA Global Games, the Detroit Pistons will face the Dallas Mavericks at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, and Wettbasis has the tips and odds at your fingertips!

Since its debut in 1992, this will be the 34th NBA game in the neighboring country, more than in any other country outside the US and Canada. The Texans, on the other hand, have had a mediocre start to the new season with two wins and three losses. Their performance is all the weaker given that they have only played in front of their own fans so far.

Their opponents from Motown are in better shape: Head coach J. B. Bickerstaff’s team has a 60 percent win rate after five games. So they are in better form, and the same can be said for the squad of basketball players from the Little Caesars Arena. The Detroit Pistons vs. Dallas Mavericks prediction therefore includes a victory for the Michigan basketball team by at least eight points.

The short-term absence of Anthony Davis also supports this prediction. “The Brow” is the most experienced player in the Lone Star State team’s squad and, despite being 32 years old, he continues to perform very efficiently.

AD has averaged 20.8 points in the current NBA season and around ten rebounds, which is no less impressive. In the last game against the Pacers, however, Davis had to leave the court after only seven minutes due to injury and will now also miss the NBA Global Game.

Detroit Pistons – Dallas Mavericks Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

The two teams have already faced each other twice this year. The Mavs and Pistons each won once in front of their home crowd. Looking back over a longer period, however, the balance is clearly in favor of the men from the American Airlines Center.

Nine of their last twelve meetings with Detroit have ended in victory for them. For the upcoming NBA Global Game in Mexico between Detroit and Dallas, however, the odds are now pointing towards a Pistons win.

Detroit Pistons – Dallas Mavericks Tip

The Mavericks, who are playing their eighth game in Mexico, have a notable roster. It includes ten-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis and nine-time All-Star Kyrie Irving, among others. Added to this is four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson. However, this all sounds better than it currently is.

Thompson is long past his prime and a far cry from his former three-point festivals as part of the legendary “Splash Brothers” with Stephen Curry at the Warriors. Kyrie Irving is injured and only Davis continued to play strongly, but as mentioned, he is now also out of action. Furthermore, head coach Jason Kidd’s team is still significantly weakened by the departure of Luka Doncic in the previous season compared to previous years.

The situation in Detroit is quite different. After many years of gloom, Motown now has a powerful squad that, thanks to its great talent, has contender potential in the medium term. We are therefore opting for the Detroit Pistons vs. Dallas Mavericks betting odds on a victory for Bickerstaff’s team by eight or more points.

This is also supported by the fact that the Texans not only have to do without “Uncle Drew” and AD, but also other players such as guard Dante Exum, who are out due to injury. The personnel situation also explains why the Mavs have the third-fewest points per game in the entire NBA this season with 107.8.
