Will the DEB team make it to the quarter-finals?
“Win or go home” is the motto for the DEB team on Tuesday evening in our Germany vs. Denmark tip. They will not only be playing against a hot Danish team, but also against the entire arena in Herning, Denmark.
So much for the negative conditions. The positives are certainly the significantly higher individual quality in the squad and also the direct comparison. Four of the last five duels went quite clearly to the German team.
Nevertheless, it could be an extremely exciting game that remains close until the final minutes. We wouldn’t be surprised if Dominik Kahun or Tim Stützle scored the decisive goal to secure the DEB team’s progress.
All in all, however, this is a match between two teams with shaky defenses. Despite all the positive aspects, the Danes concede an average of 3.8 goals, which means that, as so often recently, our prediction for Germany against Denmark is a high-scoring game.
Germany – Statistics & current form
Complete relief or complete disaster? These are the two options for the German team on Tuesday against Denmark. After their start with three wins, a defeat would be a huge disappointment. In addition, the team has not missed the quarter-finals since 2018.
But why are head coach Harold Kreis’s men no longer as in-form as they were at the start of the tournament – is it just because they are facing tougher opponents? On the one hand, yes, of course, but on the other hand, Lukas Reichel’s injury was also a significant factor.
Reichel and Grubauer out
With Reichel and, most recently, goalie Philipp Grubauer, the German team was missing two strong NHL players who can make a difference on both sides of the ice. It’s no coincidence that the Germans conceded only four goals in their first three games. In the three games that followed, however, they conceded 16.
That gives them a goals-against average of 5.3 per game, which is not enough to win many games. Even the defensively vulnerable Danes have conceded only 3.8 goals per game over the tournament. However, there is still a glimmer of hope that Grubauer will be able to play again on Tuesday.
Tips on the DEB team possible
What the latest goals against statistics show in any case is that goals will be scored. In four out of six games involving the German team, there were more than 5.5 total goals, and in five out of six games involving Denmark, there were even more than 5.5 total goals.
This means that for Germany vs. Denmark, the odds on over 5.5 total goals are once again our top option. And that’s despite the “all or nothing” nature of the game. Often, teams tend to play more cautiously in such situations, but we don’t expect that to be the case in this matchup.

Denmark – Statistics & current form
The Danes don’t lie. And they have promised the German team a tough fight in their interviews. That’s sure to be the case, but the question is: Does Denmark have what it takes to spring a surprise here?
And we have to be honest: it would definitely be a surprise, because Team Denmark is competing without a single NHL player and without any big stars in general. In recent years, legends such as Frans Nielsen, Frederik Andersen and Nikolaj Ehlers have at least been around from time to time. At least the latter is likely to take to the ice for his country for the first time at this home World Championship on Tuesday evening.
Experienced Danish team
Despite the final round being played on home turf, most of the superstars are missing this year. However, there are numerous other veterans on board, many of whom are already past their prime. Twelve players in their squad are over 30.
It’s nice for the players to get to play in a World Championship in their home country towards the end of their careers, but you can already tell that some of them are getting on in years. That’s one of the reasons why the team concedes an average of 3.8 goals per game.
Tips on over-points top
Strong up front, weak at the back. What has been true of the German team recently has been true of the Danes throughout the tournament. And that is unlikely to change against Team Germany of all teams. We would be very surprised if both teams suddenly rediscovered their defense.
So our prediction for Germany vs. Denmark is a game with lots of goals. That makes the betting odds for at least six goals in regular time our clear number 1 bet for DEB against Denmark.

Germany – Denmark Head-to-head record / H2H record
Four of the last five matches went to Team Germany. However, the Danes won the last encounter in 2024 6-5 after a penalty shootout. We could see a similar result on Tuesday.
This is because both teams generally score quite a lot of goals. We have listed the Danes’ results as examples: 0-5, 2-5, 2-7, 5-1, 8-2, 6-3. These were real goal fests, and the next one is likely to follow on Tuesday.
This means that the odds on over points are definitely worth a bet in Germany vs. Denmark. However, we are still narrowly backing Team Germany, who simply have the better individual players in their squad with Kahun, Stützle and Seider.
Germany – Denmark Tip
The Germans lost their last three games, the Danes won theirs. Does that make Denmark the favorites? No, and the bookmakers don’t think so either. They agree with our assessment that Germany will get the job done in the end. Nevertheless, this is not our main tip, but rather a tip for over 5.5 total goals in Germany vs. Denmark.
As an alternative player bet, we are going for Dominik Kahun on Tuesday. He loves the big stage and, after his two goals in the opener against Hungary, it’s his turn to score again.
