Will Miami get back on track?

Negative was yesterday – positive is today. At least that’s how both the Colts and the Dolphins are starting the new season and thus also our Colts vs. Dolphins tip. Both teams are coming off a rather disappointing 8-9 season in which they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

In Miami in particular, they want to forget last season as quickly as possible, as everything came together at once with Tua Tagovailoa’s injury and the unrest surrounding Tyreek Hill off the field. But can things get better in the new season?

There are once again big question marks, partly due to injury concerns within the team. Achane missed much of the preseason with calf problems, Hill is still injured, and backup running back Jaylen Wright is already ruled out for the start of the season.

This means that our Colts vs. Dolphins prediction is shaping up to be a close matchup. We generally see Miami as the favorites, but if both Hill and Achane are out, the game could quickly swing in the Colts’ favor.

Indianapolis Colts – Miami Dolphins Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

Four of the last five head-to-head matchups went to the Colts. However, we shouldn’t be too misled by this, because in the preseason, for example, the Dolphins had to play twice with their backup QB – once with Tyler Huntley and once with Jacoby Brissett.

On the one hand, this naturally reduced their chances of winning enormously, but on the other hand, it also reduced their total points, as the offense went from being one of the best in the league to one of the worst without starting QB Tua Tagovailoa. We can therefore disregard the low point total in these games in our considerations.

Tagovailoa is currently fit, and Tyreek Hill and Devon Achane could also make it in time for the game. However, neither will be at 100%, which gives other players more opportunities. We therefore expect tight end Darren Waller to be heavily involved, which significantly increases his chances of scoring a touchdown.

Indianapolis Colts – Miami Dolphins Tip

Neither team exactly impressed with their defense last season. The Colts conceded an average of 25.1 points, while the Dolphins conceded 21.4. However, in games with Tagovailoa, the total number of points always increased significantly, which also makes the odds for over 45 total points interesting for Colts vs. Dolphins.

Betting on a winner is only our third option here, but if you do, then bets on Miami are slightly more recommendable. However, we see the highest value in this game in touchdown bets on Darren Waller, who is likely to be in high demand right from his return from retirement.

This game is also particularly recommended for live betting. Due to the numerous injured players on the Dolphins’ side, the line could still change at short notice. If all of the Fins’ injured players are out, betting on the Colts is even recommended.

The most interesting question for them in the offseason was whether veteran Daniel Jones or promising youngster Anthony Richardson would win the starting QB job. In the end, it was Daniel Jones, which will certainly raise the Colts’ basic level – but no major leaps can be expected with this decision.
