Will the Steelers also defeat the Dolphins?

Our Steelers vs. Dolphins tip is a curious one. Both teams have almost the same record (7:6 and 6:7), yet the Steelers have a 68% chance of making the playoffs and the Dolphins less than 1%. How is that possible? The Steelers simply play in the weakest division in the AFC and therefore have a much easier time winning it.

Even a negative 8:9 record could be enough in the end. Despite their extremely slim chances, the Fins have not been discouraged in recent weeks and have won four games in a row. “Now more than ever” seems to be their motto, and it could save McDaniel’s job in the end.

The Steelers, on the other hand, have lost three of their last five games. Even though they recently defeated the Baltimore Ravens, they are not going into this matchup in the best form. Their status as favorites is therefore much lower than we would have thought a few weeks ago.

Our prediction for Steelers vs. Dolphins is therefore a typical competitive Monday Night Game in which the total points will not skyrocket. The lower error rate should ultimately lead to victory, and the Steelers have often had the edge in this regard this season.

Kick-off for this AFC duel is at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh. Like all Monday Night Games, the game will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming service.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Miami Dolphins Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

There have been five head-to-head matchups in the last twelve years, and three of them went to the Dolphins – including the last one in 2022, which ended 16-10. We don’t expect quite as few points on Monday, but it’s unlikely to be much more than that.

Firstly, Monday Night Games statistically score fewer points than other NFL games, and secondly, the Dolphins’ defense has continuously improved in recent weeks. They have conceded an average of just 13.25 points over their last four games. We therefore don’t expect the Steelers to score significantly more than 20 points here, despite their status as favorites.

Therefore, the odds for under 23.5 Steelers points in Steelers vs. Dolphins are definitely playable. The same goes for general under points, as we don’t see the Dolphins scoring highly either. This is even more true if De’Von Achane is out. He has been listed as questionable all week due to a rib injury.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Miami Dolphins Tip

The Steelers have already stolen the ball from their opponents 23 times – the second-best record in the NFL. If they win this statistic again on Monday, it will be extremely difficult to defeat the Steelers. Somehow, they always manage to win these low-scoring games.

Therefore, betting odds on Pittsburgh are also possible for Steelers vs. Dolphins, with some reservations. However, we would not give them a big handicap, and they will not score too many points. Our favorite bet therefore remains Steelers Under 23.5. We simply find this number to be set too high.

Our recommended player bet for this matchup: a touchdown by Ollie Gordon. He may only be the Dolphins’ number 2 running back in the depth chart, but he is used more often as a goal line back. With Achane now having rib problems, the chances are that he will play this role even more often on Monday.
