Who will win the battle of the disappointed?
The NFC East’s Loser Bowl is already coming up on Thursday in our Commanders vs. Cowboys tip. Both teams had hoped for much more before the season – at least both teams were clear playoff contenders.
However, they have both already missed out with two games to go. The Commanders due to numerous injuries and a weaker defense, the Cowboys solely due to their disastrous defense. In this respect, both teams could now score well again at the end in this duel of the disappointed.
In Washington, backup quarterback Marcus Mariota is also likely to be out after Jayden Daniels, as he injured his throwing hand last Sunday. If Josh Johnson has to play in this game, we see Dallas coming out on top here.
The Boys have already confirmed that Prescott will play on Thursday despite missing the playoffs. So, for Commanders vs. Cowboys, our prediction is a Dallas win, and we can almost blindly go for the over points in their games.
Kickoff for the NFC East showdown is Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Washington. The game will actually be available to watch on Netflix.
Washington Commanders – Dallas Cowboys Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
Seven of the last ten head-to-head matchups have gone to the Cowboys, who have been dominating this matchup for years. The Commanders were able to change that in January on the last game day of the preseason, but the Cowboys rested Dak Prescott and played Trey Lance.
Otherwise, the Commanders are also excellent against Prescott. In the first matchup of the season in October, he threw three touchdowns with no interceptions and had a very strong passer rating of 130.4. We wouldn’t be surprised if Thursday’s game turns out very similarly.
So, in Commanders vs. Cowboys, the odds on Dallas are much better, even with a handicap of up to -6.5 points. Since both teams allow an average of 57.2 points and have the second and third weakest defenses in the league, over points are even the better betting option here.
Washington Commanders – Dallas Cowboys Tip
The Commanders are ahead of the Cowboys and they have injury concerns at the quarterback position. There is therefore a lot to be said for Dallas, who will not be resting their stars on the penultimate matchday and in the Christmas Game, as they might then do on the last matchday.
This makes the betting odds on the Cowboys a good option for Washington vs. Dallas – as is the obligatory over points bet on Cowboys games. The 50-point mark was exceeded in all four of the Cowboys’ last games.
Our alternative as a player bet is therefore also on a Cowboys player. We consider a TD bet on CeeDee Lamb to be very promising, as he already impressed in the first duel with 110 yards and a touchdown against Washington.
