Will the Gunners slip up in the North London derby?
A few days before the Champions League clash between Bayern and Arsenal, the Gunners have a tough task ahead of them in the Premier League. At home in the North London derby, they face Spurs, who have been strong away from home so far.
THFC have picked up 13 points from their first five PL away games this season. This makes coach Thomas Frank’s team the only team in the English top flight that has yet to lose away from home. Twelve goals scored and only three conceded are also the best figures in the league. Nevertheless, the hosts are clear favorites in Sunday afternoon’s match between Arsenal and Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.
This is primarily because coach Mikel Arteta’s team has had a formidable season so far, leading the table by four points ahead of Manchester City (as of Saturday morning) and, above all, setting the standard defensively in the Premier League. Goalkeeper David Raya has only had to pick the ball out of the net five times in eleven league games.
Across all competitions, the Gunners have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last nine games. The last goal conceded at home was on September 21, more than two months ago. It was in five PL home games, in which they also picked up an impressive 13 points, that they conceded their only goal to date. Although Gabriel Magalhaes, one of the two regular center backs, will be out due to injury, my Arsenal vs. Tottenham prediction is once again that the leaders will not concede many goals at the back.
Since the title contenders from the English capital have enough offensive potential to cause problems for the Spurs defense, which is not always solid, I am ultimately convinced that the Gunners will prevail in the North London derby, as they have so often in recent years. For my favorite tip of a home win with a maximum of four goals in the game, odds of 1.70 are offered between Arsenal and Tottenham in the Betano app.
If you want to narrow down the potential final score even further, Winamax is offering impressive odds of 2.60 for a 1-0, 2-0, or 3-0 home win. In general, we can expect a low-scoring match. Arsenal’s biggest weapon—set pieces—is one of the visitors’ greatest strengths defensively. A long 0-0 or a first half with no more than one goal is therefore entirely conceivable.
Arsenal – Tottenham Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
As already mentioned, Arsenal has a very positive record against its rivals from north London. Five of the last six PL duels, for example, went to the Gunners. At home, Arteta’s team has even celebrated seven wins (7-1-1) in the last nine matches.
Looking back at Arsenal’s last 32 PL home games against Tottenham, the former title holders have only suffered a single defeat (19-12-1). Last season, Arsenal won 2-1 at home and 0-0 away. I expect a similar result this time around.

Arsenal – Tottenham Tip
A real derby is coming up on Sunday afternoon in North London. Arsenal welcomes Tottenham. In terms of the table, it’s a real top-of-the-table clash, as the league leaders face the fifth-placed team, which in turn is one of the best away teams in the Premier League after the first eleven matchdays. Despite the fact that the hosts will be without some key players, I’m pushing for the home win in the Arsenal vs. Tottenham match.
My preferred approach is to combine the Gunners’ three points with under 4.5 goals. I’m betting six units on Betano’s 1.70. Alternatively, you could also combine 1X with under 1.5 (1st half) for a little less risk. Basically, for the Arsenal vs. Tottenham match, it makes the most sense to bet on few goals.
