Will the Bats steal a point from the Civitas Metropolitano?
As things stand, the Rojiblancos can’t do better than fourth place in the table. At home, Diego Simeone and his team deliver as usual – even in our Atletico Madrid vs. Valencia tip, the Colchoneros have no major hurdles to fear.
The hosts have won seven of eight La Liga home games so far (1D). Away from the Civitas Metropolitano, however, Simeone’s protégés rarely reach their top level. The Rojiblancos have only picked up two wins from their previous eight La Liga away games. Fortunately for them, the men from Madrid will be playing in their own stadium in the Atletico Madrid vs. Valencia prediction.
There, the 11-time Spanish champions have built up a terrific goal difference (20:6) and won five of eight matches by at least two goals. The visitors are the Bats, whose hopes of a first away win of the season are pretty limited – as is clearly evident from the Atletico vs. Valencia betting odds.
Visiting coach Carlos Corberan has created positive momentum shortly before his one-year anniversary as coach of Los Che. His team is unbeaten in four league games (1W, 3D). The Blanquinegros are severely limited in attack, as evidenced not only by their 14 goals in 15 La Liga games this season.
Atletico Madrid vs. Valencia Head-to-head record
As if we had requested and ordered the recent results of this pairing, the Rojiblancos have won four of the previous five encounters with the Bats without conceding a goal. At home, the Colchoneros also won three consecutive matches without conceding a goal.
The home side’s motto should be quite clear: dominate from the start and overwhelm Los Che’s recently successful defense with an early barrage of attacks. If that doesn’t work right away, Diego Simeone has the most productive bench in the Spanish Primera Division up his sleeve (7 goals by substitutes).

Atletico Madrid – Valencia Tip
Despite Valencia’s improved form, we have no real doubts about a home win. Carlos Corberan’s team usually defends in a wait-and-see, passive manner (15.0 passes allowed per defensive action) and refrains from intense pressing in combination with high ball wins (138 pressing sequences are only enough for 17th place in the league comparison).
This reduces the risk of Atlético Madrid conceding an unfortunate goal from simple ball losses in their own half. In addition, apart from Hugo Duro (5 goals this season), hardly any player in the visiting squad has a goal-scoring radar for the opponent’s penalty area.
Furthermore, Valencia has great difficulty creating danger in front of the opponent’s goal on every match day. The last time the Bats scored more than one goal in the Spanish top flight was on September 30 of this season. In addition, Atletico Madrid (90) has taken more than twice as many shots on the opponent’s goal as Valencia (44).
Added to this is the well-known discipline of Diego Simeone’s team. The Colchoneros allowed their opponents only 58.79 percent of shots from inside the penalty area – the second-best figure among all teams in the Spanish Primera Division.
