Are we in for another goal fest?

Rayo Vallecano is on equal footing with FC Barcelona. At least, that’s the impression given by their head-to-head record. After all, in the last nine matchups against the Catalans, the working-class club from Madrid’s Vallecas district has won exactly as many games as the reigning Spanish champions. The team from the capital also put up a valiant fight in their first meeting this season, earning a 1-1 draw. So, are these ideal conditions to bet on the underdog in Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano, or perhaps not?

Of course, the underdog’s record against Hansi Flick’s team looks good, and the 13th-place side has also gone unbeaten in its last six league matches. But Coach Inigo Perez’s team is light-years away from being even remotely on the same level as the Catalans.

Barca has won all twelve home games since the reopening of Camp Nou, has failed to win just five of 28 LaLiga matches, and warmed up for Sunday’s game with a 7-2 victory over Newcastle in the Champions League midweek. It’s safe to assume, then, that the Catalans will emerge victorious this weekend as well.

In matches featuring this attack, which averages more than 2.5 goals per LaLiga game, a bet on plenty of goals is naturally worth considering in the Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano match at attractive odds—especially since the team from the capital is traveling to Catalonia with tired legs. After all, Inigo Perez’s team was still in action on Thursday in the Conference League round of 16 against Samsunspor.

One player the underdog will find particularly difficult to contain is Raphinha. The Brazilian is currently in outstanding form and has already scored twelve goals in 2026. He scored five of those goals last week alone, netting three against Sevilla and two against Newcastle.

Barcelona – Rayo Vallecano Head-to-Head Record

Naturally, the Catalans have the upper hand in head-to-head matchups against Rayo Vallecano. Recently, however, the team from the capital—which has a balanced record against the reigning champions over the last nine meetings—has proven to be a tough opponent.

Barcelona – Rayo Vallecano Prediction

A look at the most recent head-to-head matches may give the underdogs from Vallecas some hope, but it’s still unlikely that the capital club will come away from Camp Nou with any points.

Alternatively, for the Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano match, bets on over 3.5 goals or a goal by Raphinha are also available at attractive odds.
