FCB is looking forward to facing its favorite opponent!

The Wolves are starting the new year with an away game against the league leaders from the Isar, and we’re giving you a Bayern vs. Wolfsburg tip! The hosts dominate the Bundesliga and are the only team in the league still unbeaten after 15 rounds.

However, the hosts have been less strong recently than before. This assessment applies above all to their defense, and also to their home games. Five of the six goals conceded at home in the Allianz Arena this season were conceded by FCB in their last three home games.

The hosts failed to keep a clean sheet in any of these games, and the schedule was relatively easy during this period. Among others, they faced the two bottom teams from Mainz and St. Pauli.

The visitors, on the other hand, appear to have stabilized somewhat. Since the change of coach in November last year, when Daniel Bauer took over the job initially as an interim solution and later as the new head coach, VfL have picked up seven points from five games.

By comparison, under Simonis’ predecessor, they had only managed eight points in ten games! Bauer breathed new life into the offense with an average of two goals, but even he has not been able to significantly improve the defensive work so far – as can be easily seen from the eleven goals conceded.

So it looks like there will be goals in the Bavarian capital, which is why we are going for more than two goals and goals from both sides in our Bayern vs. Wolfsburg prediction.

Other optional tips presented later in the article include a goal from Karl or even four goals at the Allianz Arena (Bayern over 3.5 team goals).

Bayern vs. Wolfsburg prediction AI

AI has also taken a close look at the match on the Isar and identified value in the odds for at least four goals. This assessment is based on the fact that artificial intelligence puts the expected goals value at 4.08 – clearly the highest of all matchups in the upcoming round of games. The Bayern vs. Wolfsburg AI prediction is therefore for more than 3.5 goals.

Bayern – Statistics & current form

FC Bayern Munich can be very satisfied with their season so far: with 41 points from their first 15 Bundesliga games of the 2025/26 season, the hosts are enjoying the best season of any club in Bundesliga history. Only Bayern themselves have picked up as many points at this stage of the season in 2013/14.

What’s more, the hosts have won the Bundesliga first half title for the 28th time. This is usually a very good omen for the “Schale” (championship trophy): in 24 of the 27 previous cases, Munich went on to become German champions. FCB is also the only club in the league, along with Dortmund, that is still undefeated at home, winning seven of the eight home games played this season.

Needless to say, this tally is once again the best in the Bundesliga. On top of that, no other club in the German top flight has scored more goals in front of their own fans. Coach Vincent Kompany’s team averages 3.9 goals per game.

Will Bayern strike four times?

Given this enormous offensive strength and the visitors’ continued shaky defense, the betting odds for more than 3.5 goals from the home side are also recommended for the match between Bayern and Wolfsburg.

On offense, youngster Lennart Karl, among others, has been very efficient recently. The 17-year-old has scored in half of Munich’s last eight competitive games on the national and international stage!

In light of Karl’s accuracy, the odds on his next personal goal celebration in Bayern vs. Wolfsburg are also worth recommending. You can place your goal scorer bets at Bet-at-home, and you can place your bets anytime on the go thanks to the Bet-at-home sports betting app. Another factor in favor of him scoring is that one of his offensive teammates, Nicolas Jackson, is currently unavailable as he is playing for his home country of Senegal in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.

Wolfsburg – Statistics & current form

The 2015 DFB Cup winners have recovered, as mentioned at the beginning, but their defensive problems have not changed much. Only the players from Heidenheim and Frankfurt have conceded more goals than the Wolves in the league.

The fact that they have only kept one clean sheet this season clearly shows the misery in defense. Wolfsburg’s resilience also needs improvement: they have conceded the first goal of the game seven times this season and have not won any of those games, with Wolfsburg only managing to salvage a point on one occasion.

Pejčinović to lead Wolfsburg’s attack

In attack, the visitors will once again rely primarily on Dženan Pejčinović. The German junior international played a full 90 minutes for the first time this season on the last matchday and clearly enjoys a lot of trust under new coach Daniel Bauer.

The 20-year-old immediately repaid the early praise with a hat trick against Freiburg! At 20 years and 308 days, Dzenan Pejcinovic also became the youngest Wolfsburg player to score a hat trick in the Bundesliga. He is now the youngest German player to score a hat trick in the league since Thomas Müller, who scored a hat trick for Bayern against Bochum in 2010 at the age of 20 years and 230 days.

The youngster will now have to step up even more, as Mohamed Amoura, a particularly strong striker, is unavailable. Like Jackson on the other side, the Algerian is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations.

VfL likes to travel

The visitors can also count on the fact that they have performed better away than at home this season. Wolfsburg have picked up ten of their 15 points on the road, and that’s with one game less than at home! No other club in the Bundesliga has a higher percentage of away points (67%).

While they are second from bottom in the home table, VfL are in a much better ninth place in the away table. However, one of the visitors’ weaknesses is managing leads: Wolfsburg have already squandered 15 points after taking the lead this Bundesliga season – the highest number in the league. In contrast, FCB has already picked up seven points after falling behind at home this Bundesliga season, which is also the highest number!

Bayern – Wolfsburg Head-to-head record

The players from the car city have been waiting almost ten years for their next three points in the Bundesliga against Bayern! Since a victory at the end of January 2015, they have suffered 18 defeats and shared the points twice.

Just how long it has been since Lower Saxony’s last success is illustrated by Kevin de Bruyne, who scored twice in the 4-1 home win. On top of that, Bayern have not lost any of their 28 Bundesliga home games against VfL Wolfsburg (26-2-0)!

No other team has played FCB at home so often in Bundesliga history without suffering a single defeat. The bookmakers are now giving the visitors little hope of ending this dry spell with their Bayern vs. Wolfsburg odds, as the odds are once again clearly pointing to a home win.

Kompany is about to reach a milestone

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany is also celebrating an anniversary. The Belgian is about to play his 50th Bundesliga game and in his first 49 games he has earned a whopping 123 points (38-9-2). A win would bring him to 126 points after 50 Bundesliga games – only Pep Guardiola (132) has achieved more in the club’s Bundesliga history.

Bayern – Wolfsburg Tip

Bayern have now gone three Bundesliga home games without a clean sheet. If you add in the Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon at home, that makes it four home games in which FCB have conceded at least one goal.

The defense must therefore accept criticism that it has recently slackened. Without a late penalty goal from Harry Kane, the last home game against bottom-of-the-table Mainz would have even resulted in the first home defeat of the season.

The 2009 champions are once again traveling with a reliable offense, but one that is paired with a shaky defense. Given this situation, the Bayern vs. Wolfsburg prediction of goals for both sides and more than two goals seems promising.

This has been the case in all of FCB’s last four home games across all competitions, and in all but one of the Wolves’ last seven league games! On top of that, no Bayern home game this season has ended with fewer than 2.5 goals, and the average of 4.6 goals is the highest in the Bundesliga home rankings!

The Bayern vs. Wolfsburg tip is further supported by the visitors’ recent offensive efficiency: for the first time since February 2019, VfL has scored three goals in three consecutive Bundesliga games.

For its part, FC Bayern has scored at least twice in 23 consecutive Bundesliga games – a current Bundesliga record – and has scored 55 goals in the first 15 Bundesliga games of the season. The latter figure is also a new Bundesliga record!
