Will the Nerazzurri carry their Serie A momentum forward?
Thanks to Inter Milan’s 2-1 win in Genoa and slip-ups by both AC Milan and SSC Napoli, the Nerazzurri are somewhat surprisingly traveling to Saudi Arabia as league leaders, where the Supercoppa Italiana will once again be played in a tournament format.
In the second semifinal, the reigning Coppa Italia winners from Emilia-Romagna will face the reigning runners-up from Lombardy. Although the Veltri (meaning “greyhounds”) have lost only one of their last six matches against FC Internazionale (three wins, two draws), our tip for Bologna vs. Inter Milan is that the team from the Italian fashion capital will advance.
Another factor in favor of Cristian Chivu’s team is that they have won six of their last seven Serie A matches (one defeat). The only exception was the lost Derby della Madonnina (0-1). Bologna, on the other hand, has gone three Serie A games in a row without a win (one draw, two defeats) and has also dropped out of the title race for the time being due to its meager haul of just one point from a possible nine.
They are now eight points behind the leaders. As we do not expect a high-scoring match at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, we think the best value for a Bologna vs. Inter Milan prediction in the match combo is the double chance X2 with under 3.5 goals.
However, those who do not want to categorically rule out a victory for the Emiliani can alternatively stick to pure under bets. A tip on a maximum of two goals in regular time is also highly likely because both teams represent Italy in the European Cup and have several English weeks behind them.
Against this backdrop, so soon after the last Serie A matchday and given the trip to a completely different climate zone during the week, the energy for exciting attacking football may be lacking.
Bologna – Inter Milan Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
Head to head: 57 – 43 – 92
The two teams have faced each other 192 times in competitive matches, with Inter Milan leading the head-to-head record with 92 wins. However, Bologna FC has been able to catch up somewhat, at least recently. The Rossoblù have won three of their last six encounters with the Nerazzurri (two draws, one defeat) and also beat the reigning runners-up 1-0 in their last Serie A meeting on April 20, 2025.
Bologna – Inter Milan Tip
Although the recent record favors the Emiliani, who have lost only one of their last six competitive games against the Nerazzurri (three wins, two draws), Inter are traveling with a lot of momentum.
The Lombards regained the Serie A lead at the weekend, picking up 18 out of a possible 21 points from their last seven games. Meanwhile, the Rossoblù have gone three league games without a win (one draw, two defeats), which is why our prediction for Bologna vs. Inter Milan is that the Nerazzurri will advance to the Supercoppa Italiana final.
Considering that the Veltri are very strong defensively, as evidenced by the fact that they have conceded only 13 goals in their 15 Serie A games so far in the 2025/26 season, the score could be 0-0 or 1-1 after regular time, which we would also like to cover with our betting recommendation. We therefore recommend a combined bet on double chance X2 with under 3.5 goals. Betano is offering odds of 1.67 for Bologna vs. Inter Milan, which we are betting on with five out of ten units.
