Will the Seagulls start a new home streak?

After ten consecutive Premier League home games without defeat (six wins, four draws), Brighton & Hove Albion suffered a 3-4 defeat to Aston Villa in front of their home crowd on Wednesday evening. Although the Seagulls scored at least two goals in their seventh consecutive home game, they suffered a minor setback in the race for European places.

However, if Brighton can beat West Ham at home, the next home winning streak could start immediately. This is supported by the fact that the Hammers have slipped into a direct relegation spot after a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.

In addition, West Ham United is the Seagulls’ undisputed favorite opponent. Brighton has lost only one of 16 Premier League matches against the Irons (seven wins, eight draws) and sent the Londoners home with a 3-2 defeat in their last PL home game on April 26, 2025. As we expect a high-scoring match in our Brighton vs. West Ham prediction, we find the best value in betting that Fabian Hürzeler’s offensively strong team will score at least two home goals again, regardless of the outcome of the match.

Basically, we would also assume that at least two home goals should be enough for the Seagulls to take all three points. After all, the Hammers have problems in attack. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has scored only 16 goals in the first 14 matchdays. Against this backdrop, it is also entirely possible to bet on an Albion home win in a straightforward three-way system.

Brighton – West Ham Head-to-head record

Head to head: 22 – 22 – 19

A total of 63 matches have been played between the two teams so far, and at first glance, the head-to-head record looks fairly even. In fact, however, the record is diluted by numerous matches from the 20th century, in which West Ham United mostly had the upper hand against the Seagulls.

Of all the clubs against which the Hammers have played at least two games in the Premier League, the London club has never had such a low win rate (just 6 percent) as against Brighton & Hove Albion, against whom they have won only one of 16 Premier League matches (eight draws, seven defeats).

Brighton – West Ham Tip

The betting odds from the top bookmakers are clearly and unmistakably in favor of the home side in Brighton vs. West Ham, even though Albion lost their last PL home game 3-4 to Aston Villa, while the Hammers managed a 1-1 draw at Manchester United’s “Theatre of Dreams.”

Nevertheless, this did not prevent the Londoners from slipping into a direct relegation spot. The Irons, who are now facing their absolute nemesis, have lost eight of their first 14 Premier League games. West Ham have won only one of 16 Premier League games against Brighton (eight draws, seven defeats).

As the odds for tip 1 are a little too low for our liking, our main recommendation is that the Seagulls will score at least two goals in their eighth consecutive Premier League home game. This should be enough to secure all three points, as the Hammers have only managed to score more than one goal per game on four of the 14 matchdays, but it also covers eventualities such as a 2-2 draw.
