Will the Red Devils win their first match without Amorim?
It has been almost three months since the Clarets’ last home win in the league. Since their victory against Leeds, they have suffered no fewer than five defeats and shared the points once in front of their own fans. Read our preview of the match at Turf Moor to find out which Burnley vs. Manchester United tip we think is worth considering.
The founding member of the Football League’s embarrassing home record is mainly due to a harmless attack. Looking back at the last six league home games, they have only managed a meager three goals, and in the majority (4) of these encounters, coach Scott Parker’s team even gave their guests a clean sheet.
Against this backdrop, the Burnley vs. Manchester United prediction suggests an away win to nil. We also expect more than one goal from the visitors, who are playing their first match since parting ways with coach Rúben Amorim at the beginning of this week.
Despite an overall inconsistent performance, the Red Devils’ attack has recently been convincing, at least away from home. In five of their last seven away league games, they have scored at least twice.
The additional Burnley vs. Manchester tip is supported by the shaky home defense. Only four teams in the PL concede more goals on their own turf than the promoted team.
It could also be worth betting on a goal from Brazilian striker Cunha for the visitors. The former Hertha player has scored three goals in his last five Premier League games – the same number as in his previous 20 games.
Burnley – Manchester United Head-to-head record / H2H record
Manchester has been unbeaten in eight games against Burnley in all competitions (6-2-0). In addition, Burnley won its first Premier League home game against United 1-0 in August 2009. Since then, however, the club has gone winless in eight games against Manchester (0-2-6), scoring just one goal!
The bookmakers’ odds also place the visitors as favorites for the upcoming match between Burnley and Manchester United.

Burnley – Manchester United Tip
Coach Scott Parker’s home offense is, as described, very weak, and now Burnley is facing a team that has never been a welcome guest at Turf Moor in the past. The British record champions are unbeaten in eight away games against the “Wine Reds.”
Worse still from the hosts’ point of view: United have only failed to win two of these encounters, and the half-dozen victories for the men from Old Trafford have always come without conceding a goal! On top of that, Burnley have scored only two of their 14 Premier League goals against the Red Devils at home (14 percent).
Considering these statistics and the current lack of efficiency in the Championship runners-up’s offense, the Burnley vs. Manchester United betting odds for another away win without conceding a goal for the 15th-placed team in last season’s Premier League are worth recommending.
Just how weak the hosts’ attack is can also be seen from the fact that no other team in the league has scored fewer goals at home! Against this backdrop, the hosts cannot count on home advantage, especially as their defense is chronically shaky in home games.
The home side has not kept a clean sheet in its last six home games, none of which, as mentioned at the beginning, were won. Admittedly, the visitors also have only an average away record, but we still believe Manchester can get their first away win of the season without conceding a goal in their away game at Burnley! For interim coach Darren Fletcher, who previously coached the club’s U18 team, this would of course also be a very successful debut.
