Will the Giallorossi stay ahead?
AS Roma may have lost two of their last four Serie A games 0-1, which was particularly frustrating because they were up against direct rivals AC Milan and Napoli in the battle for the 2026 Serie A championship, but the Giallorossi are still only one point behind first place ahead of the 14th matchday of Italy’s top flight.
The first Scudetto in 25 years therefore remains a possibility. However, if the tip for an away win for the Wolves against Cagliari does not come true, it would be a major setback for the capital club.
However, there is little to suggest that the Sardinians will be able to trouble their guests from the Eternal City. Cagliari Calcio has won only two of its 13 Serie A games in 2025/26, is currently winless in nine league games (four draws, five losses) and has also been waiting for another win against the Giallorossi for six games (one draw, five losses). Although they held Napoli to a 1-1 draw in the Coppa Italia during the week, before the Rossoblu were knocked out of the competition by the reigning champions in an epic penalty shootout (8-9), we do not think Fabio Pisacane’s side have any significant chance of winning points in the Caglari vs. AS Roma prediction. Another factor in favor of an away win for the capital club is the fact that AS Roma comfortably lead the Serie A away table with 15 out of a possible 18 points. No other team has conceded fewer goals away from home than the Giallorossi (only three), who also have the most stable defense in Italy’s top flight, conceding only seven goals in 13 Serie A games.
