Will the Nerazzurri leave nothing to chance in the Lombardy derby?
For newly promoted US Cremonese, the 2025/26 season had started with a bang when they inflicted AC Milan’s only Serie A defeat of the season so far on matchday 1. Gradually, however, the Grigiorossi had to settle for lower positions in the months that followed. They are currently only six points ahead of the first relegation spot, which is also due to the fact that they have only picked up three points out of a possible 24 in their last eight league games. There is every reason to believe that Inter Milan will secure all three points in this Lombardy derby. Not only did the Nerazzurri finish the Champions League group stage in tenth place with a 2-0 away win in Dortmund after three consecutive defeats, but they are currently unbeaten in ten Serie A games (nine wins, one draw) and have built up a five-point lead over second place. Given the defensive compactness of the Biscione (meaning “poisonous snake”), we believe that betting on a Nerazzurri clean sheet is a very good option.
But offensively, too, no one in Serie A can hold a candle to Cristian Chivu’s team, which has already scored 50 goals in 22 league games. To put that into perspective, the second-best offense is Como 1907 with 37 goals – 13 fewer than Inter. Considering that “La Cremo” has failed to score in seven of its last eight league games, but has conceded twelve goals during this period, a small handicap bet of -1 on the Nerazzurri is also conceivable as an alternative to a clean sheet victory for the visitors.
