How will Everton recover from their first home defeat?

In the Premier League, we can look forward to the clash between Everton and Fulham on Saturday. After ten matchdays, the two teams are neighbors in the table: the hosts are in 14th place with twelve points, while the visitors are in 15th place with eleven points. However, both teams managed to score points on the last matchday – the Toffees with a draw against Sunderland, the Cottagers with a 3-0 win against the Wolves.

Recently, there has been one thing above all else in this duel between the two teams: few goals! In the last seven direct duels, there have been two goals or fewer five times. Accordingly, we are once again betting on under 2.5 goals in our Everton vs. Fulham tip.

Everton has noticeably lost consistency recently after a previously strong phase. They have only won one of their last seven Premier League games (three draws, three defeats) – previously, they had won five of their six games. They have suffered a particular setback at home recently: the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham was their first home defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Under David Moyes, the team last lost two home games in a row in the winter of 2023/24.

Despite the recent setbacks, the Toffees are showing progress in their play: with an average of 302 passes per game, the figure is higher than it has been since the 2020/21 season, and the pass accuracy of 79.6 percent is also the best under Moyes. The coach himself has an outstanding record against the upcoming opponent in the Everton vs. Fulham prediction: 19 wins from 32 Premier League matches – more than against any other team. With another win, he could join the exclusive circle of coaches who have celebrated 20 or more wins against a club in the Premier League.

Fulham celebrated their third win of the season on matchday 10 with a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton, but all three wins have come at home. Away from home, however, the Cottagers have been waiting for a win for four games – the last time they went longer without a point on the road was between November and January of last season. Overall, however, Marco Silva’s team has recently proven to be a difficult opponent for Everton, as evidenced by just one defeat in the last seven Premier League encounters (three wins, three draws). Given the two factors of away weakness and a strong record in direct encounters, we consider a draw to be realistic in the Everton vs. Fulham match.

Noteworthy: Three of their twelve goals this season have come from own goals by their opponents, making “own goals” Fulham’s top scorer this season, ahead of Ryan Sessegnon and Harry Wilson (two goals each). Sessegnon in particular has improved significantly in 2025: With six goals in 23 games, he has scored twice as often as in his 75 appearances between 2018 and 2024. In addition, the right side is working well together – Alex Iwobi has already set up eight chances for Harry Wilson, the highest number for any player duo in the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Everton – Fulham Head-to-head record

Everton has the clear upper hand in head-to-head matches. In 63 competitive games against Fulham to date, the Toffees have celebrated 32 wins, with 12 draws and 19 defeats. The goal difference of 102:64 also clearly favors the team from Liverpool. Most of these encounters took place in the Premier League (58 games), supplemented by three matches in the FA Cup and two in the League Cup. Fulham has been able to make up some ground in recent years, but overall, the balance remains clearly in Everton’s favor.

Everton – Fulham Tip

For the Everton vs. Fulham game, the betting odds from the best bookmakers are slightly in favor of the hosts. However, after five consecutive unbeaten home games, the Toffees suffered their first defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fulham, on the other hand, are still without a win away from home this PL season and have even lost their last four PL away games. However, the team has only failed to score once in six away games – four of their five away goals were scored after the break.

However, there have been few goals in recent head-to-head matches. In the last seven meetings between the two teams, there have been fewer than three goals on five occasions – last season’s game at Everton ended 1-1, with both teams scoring in the second half. We could see a similar pattern of play this time around.
